Conflict of Interest Policy

The word from IMCAS Scientific Board

IMCAS adheres to international criteria that are the basis for any reputable congress.

This is why we constantly insist on complete independence between instructional (or scientific) courses and the industry sponsors of our Congress.

Scientific lectures are presumed to be based on objective interpretations of evidence and unbiased interpretations of facts.

The integrity of our conference requires disclosure of the possibilities of potentially distorting influences. The audience may then judge and, if necessary, make allowance for the impact of the bias on the information being reported.

Since many of the Symposiums as well as the Multilaser/Multifiller demonstrations have been, and will continue in the future to be, associated with specific products, and industry sponsors, it is fundamental that each of us remains vigilant in our collective effort to maintain complete independence between the currently offered scientific courses and the sponsored activities and demonstrations.

Hence, since its very first meeting, back in 1994, IMCAS is constantly developing tools allowing complete disclosure at all stages:

  • all members of the Scientific Board provide written declarations of potential or actual conflicts of interest
action > disclosures posted on the website

  • all participating speakers/chairpersons have to disclose any potential conflict of interest or support that might cause a bias in their presentation (whatever support is used: oral, e-paper, video or poster)
action > disclosure slide displayed prior the beginning of each lecture presentation

  • the Scientific Board provides programs that present a scientifically balanced perspective of the subjects included
action > fair representation of all specialities concerned by the field of Aesthetic Surgery and/or Cosmetic Dermatology

  • the sources of all funding are clearly declared and are made available to learners in a readily available manner
action > precise list of sponsors with a clear financial level of contribution (Diamond, Gold, Silver, etc…)

  • all fundings must be provided free of any attempt to influence the programme, individual sessions, subjects for discussion, content or choice of Faculty members
action > clear and strict distinction between non sponsored and sponsored sessions

  • all educational material must be free from any commercial bias
action > clear and strict distinction between non sponsored and sponsored sessions

  • a clear implemented Badge Policy
action > check IMCAS badge policy

In advance, we thank each one of our Faculty members in respecting the IMCAS COI policy,
