3. Getting to know us

The unit of currency is the Hong Kong dollar (HK$). It is pegged to the US$ at approximately HK$7.8 (as of April 2012). Most foreign currencies and traveller’s cheques can be changed at banks, money-changers, hotels and major retail outlets. Banks usually offer the best exchange rate.

Hong Kong’s climate is sub-tropical, tending towards temperate for nearly half the year. From October to December there are pleasant breezes, plenty of sunshine and comfortable temperatures. Many people regard these as the best months of the year.

Autumn is generally considered as the most pleasant season. Temperatures are still high (20-27°C) while humidity and rainfall are considerably lower. Moreover, autumn is the sunniest season in Hong Kong, with October and November both averaging close to 200 hours of bright sunshine.

23. "Force Majeure"

The Organizers reserve the right to modify dates, time schedules, floor plans and programs caused by “Force Majeure”. “Force majeure” is defined as incidents beyond anyone’s control, extenuating circumstances out of the control of the Organizers (such as but not limited to general strike, invasions, hostilities, war, rioting or similar situations which prevent performance of the contract) or acts-of-God (such as but not limited to epidemics, floods, volcanic eruption, earthquakes or other convulsions of nature and other acts). In that case, the application remains binding. In the case of event cancellation caused by, or resulting from, directly or indirectly “Force Majeure”, the Organizers will notify the Exhibitor. The contract between the IMCAS and the Exhibitor shall automatically terminate, and IMCAS may retain as liquidated damages any and all fees paid by the Exhibitor.

27. Compliance with the Hong Kong legislation

EXHIBITING?

What about displaying your product(s) during the exhibition?

Exhibitors must ensure that their products displayed, exposed or utilized during the event are legally approved under the HONG KONG law.

You have therefore the following choices:

  • either exhibit products that are already registered in HONG KONG, the aim being that the registered doctors can buy the product in HONG KONG afterwards through a registered distributor
  • or present studies of the product to be soon registered. In that case, the product by itself will not be available in "real" but only through brochures or flyers.

SELLING?

What about selling your product(s) during the exhibition?

Any purchase made by the attendee should be done in exchange of a registered invoice, meaning that your company must be legally registered in HONG KONG. If this is not the case, a local distributor is the solution.

DEMONSTRATING?

What about performing a live demonstration using your product or device?

Option 1 -> during a symposium or/and a live demonstration?

Please check the corresponding chapter of 'Focus on Symposium and live demonstration' here.

Option 2 -> on your booth?

The Exhibitor is permitted:

  • to demonstrate the company products and services, only involving cosmetics and non- prescription skin care products.
  • with prior approval of our Scientific Committee
Otherwise, if the live demonstration (performed on patients) is dealing with prescription based products or devices (hyaluronic acids, peelings, lasers, ultrasounds, etc.) and for obvious security reasons & health guidelines, it should only be conducted within the dedicated IMCAS room, by sponsoring a 20-min live demo or a symposium as described in Option 1.
