Objectives: Lasers and intense pulsed light (IPL) devices have been used for the treatment of multiple cutaneous vascular lesions including telangiectasias, port wine stains, and infantile haemangiomas. The responses of vascular lesions to therapy are influenced by the type of light source used, the clinical characteristics of the target lesion, and patient-specific factors (eg, skin color, patient age). Our experience treating various conditions in patients from Bahrain using such devices will be presented with an emphasis on efficacy and safety of such treatments.
Introduction: Vascular Lesions are common in various skin types of different age groups. Lesions can be often disfiguring and may have a substantial negative impact on the patient's quality of life and well-being. Treating vascular lesions, both chronic and cosmetic, should aim at finding a modality that is both effective and safe. Lasers, in recent years, have become a mainstay of treatment for a wide range of both superficial and deep vascular lesions with satisfying results.
