Objectives: Rhinoplasty in hypertelorism

Introduction: Hypertelorism is a rare congenital craniofacial anomaly associated always with some form of nasal anomalies sometime quite severe.
The Rhinoplasty in these patients differs from the standard purely cosmetic nose as staged procedure is necessary to reach an aesthetic nose and normal facial look.

Materials / method: The author describe in details the methods adopted, the difficulties encountered and the results obtained with a follow up of over 15 years.
The first stage is reconstruction of the nostrils in case of presence of a defect
The second stage concern the broad tip. It is done at the same time as the correction of the hypertelorism.The nasal bones are brought together and the far apart left and right domes, are approximated so as to form a pleasant projecting tip.
The third stage is done at around age 15 years and is augmentation of the dorsum by a bone or rib graft and lateral osteotomies

Results: The long term results and follow up for more than 15 years is presented

Conclusion: Rhinoplasty in hypertelorism should be done as a staged procedure for adequate satisfactory results
The tip plasty should be done early and at the same time as the craniofacial skeletal reconstruction
The final nasal refinement is postponed till the age of 15-16years
The long term results of these difficult malformations operated early have been satisfactory

Objectives: The minimally invasive procedures for facial rejuvenation are gaining more popularity year after year . Being less invasive than open surgery makes it with less downtime and of course less expensive. Yet the safety and durability of the results is the main focus of this presentation

Introduction: The traffic towards minimally invasive facial rejuvenation has incresed dramatically especially among younger patients. The modern pace of daily life makes it difficult to bear the long recovery time after open surgical procedures.

Materials / method: 30 patients with percutaneous suture suspension for treating different degrees of facial sagging were done either in the mid face , lower face and neck regions. The procedures were done under local aneasthesia . The procedure entails fixing the movable SMAS or platysma to the non movable near by periosteum of the temple or mastoid bones. The thread used is a slowly absorbable braided and elastis thread, by time the thread will be absorbed in about 6 months leaving the healed SMAS or platysma in its new position. A follow up of up to 24 months was performed .

Results: Results were immediate as patients at the end of the procedures were happy with the results. No substantial side effects or complications were reported, there was almost no downtime and 75% of patients were still satisfied at 24 months follow up check up.

Conclusion: Minimally invasive percutaneous suture suspention of mid or lower face and neck rhytides is a safe, reliable and durable procedure for facial rejuvenation. When compared with open surgery it is also less expensive with almost no downtime.

Objectives: To evaluate the recurrence, and morbidity associated with the minimally invasive facial rejuvenation and its long term effect.

Introduction: Over the past decade, facial rejuvenation procedures to circumvent traditional surgery have become increasingly popular. Office-based, minimally invasive procedures can promote a youthful appearance with minimal downtime and low risk of complications.Despite the simplicity and reliability of office-based procedures, complications can occur even with an astute and experienced injector.

Materials / method: A retrospective study to evaluate the effect of minimally invasive facial rejuvenation procedures in 403 patients underwent different treatments including botox injections, injectable fillers, Auto-fat grafting, thread lifting and co2 laser resurfacing. Review of Effect, complications, and recurrence.

Results: Analysis demonstrated 30% unsatisfied patients, 43% recurrence of the corrected problem, and 16% complications. Incidence of complications, recurrence, unsatisfaction, varies according to the used technique.

Conclusion: Office-based, minimally invasive techniques are in high demand since they provide a quick and reliable service for skin care rejuvenation with low risk of complications and high patient satisfaction. However, as with any surgical procedure, complications can occur and should be discussed before procedure initiation. Proper patient selection is of utmost importance, as is significant knowledge of facial anatomy, skin pathology, and procedure techniques and options.
