Joachim VON FINCKENSTEIN

Dr. med. von Finckenstein graduated from University Klinikum rechts der Isar in Munich in 1984.

Since 1985 he was trained in general and plastic surgery in the “Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich / Klinikum Großhadern”, where he got his postgraduate degree in general surgery 1991 and in plastic and reconstructive surgery 1993.
From 1994 on he opened a section of plastic and reconstructive surgery in the Klinikum of Starnberg, 20 km south of Munich, where he works until now.

He became member of the board of the German society of plastic reconstructive and aesthetic surgery (DGPRÄC) in 2003 for 3 years.

He organised the biggest congress of plastic surgery in Europe in Munich 2005 together with Prof. Gabka for the German and Austrian society of plastic surgery.

Since 2007 he is the president of the German society of aesthetic surgery (DGÄPC),

He published more than 50 scientific papers and focussed on the treatment of patients after weight loss. He developed the method of the “Chest Lifting operation”, where the reconstruction of the chest wall in male patients is performed.
