This society was officially formed on January 10th, 1966 under the name of “Perhimpunan Ahli Dermato-Venereologi Indonesia (PADVI)”. It was not until 1989 during PADVI 6thNasional Congress that the Society’s name was changed to Perhimpunan Dokter Spesialis Kulit dan Kelamin Indonesia (Perdoski). Since then, Perdoski, as a society, has grown in many aspects. Currently, our society has 25 branches all over Indonesia, with more than 800 members consisting of dermatovenereologists and DV residents. There are 13 Study Groups to which Perdoski members with the same interest can join and contribute to the specific areas of dermatovenereology. Perdoski has also its national accredited scientific journal, Media DermatoVenereologica Indonesia, which is now published on line in our official website. Fellow of Indonesian Society of Dermatology and Venereology (FINSDV) has been awarded to many of our members who meet the selected criteria. Our society is at present a member of the International League of Dermatology Societies and many of our members have received Fellow of the Asian Academy of Dermatovenereology (FAADV). In addition to helding numerous annual scientinfic meetings, symposia and workshops, our society has also collaborated with many international organizations and companies to hold international congress in Indonesia and also research collaborations. In the national level, our society has been in close collaboration with Indonesian Medical Association, Ministry of Health, and other government institutions. As social responsibility our society has continuously held a yearly program with various activities to give back to the society, such as education and free treatment of skin diseases, STI - HIV prevention, early detection of skin diseases, and up to taking part in a national primary health program in educating and training in baby skin care and treatment of skin diseases in children.
