MC Alessi (MD,PhD)is daily involved in the exploration of haemostasis in the university hospital in Marseilles. The consultation activity developed in the Hemostasis and Thrombosis Outpatient Center (Timone hospital) allows us to constitute large cohorts of families with bleeding or thrombosis and give us a unique opportunity to recruit patients with rare platelet disease. The expertise we have developed on platelet phenotyping leads to coordinate the french reference center on hereditary platelet disorders. In addition to this medical activity she heads the Inserm unit U1062 where the objective is to identify new biomarkers and genes involved in thrombosis and platelet disorders.
