Prof Carlo BETTOCCHI

Carlo Bettocchi is specialist in Urology since 1994 and nowadays he is working as Professor of Urology in the Urological Unit at Policlinico, University of Bari, Italy. He has became responsable of the Andrological Section of this Unit in January 1996. His research and clinical career has included positions in other european urological departments, such as the Academic Hospital of Maastricht, the Netherlands (1991), the Middlesex Hospital UCLH and King’s College Hospital, UK (1992-1995 and 2004-2008). Prof Bettocchi has produced, as author, more than 200 publications in national and international journals, chapters of books and national magazines. He is reviewer of several international scientific journals and has been a principal investigator or investigator on several protocols in the field of uro-andrology. Prof Bettocchi is currently President Elect of the European Society of Sexual Medicine (ESSM), Executive Member of both Andrological Section of the European Association of Urology (ESAU) and Italian National Observatory on Gender Dysphoria (ONIG). He is also Visiting Professor in Saudi with license for working in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He works in the "Male Health International Surgical Center" in Geneve, Switzerland. His main topics are male sexual dysfunction, infertility and gender dysphoria. He is currently an internationally renowned surgeon in this area and is on the top of this field in Italy. He is actually running an andrological outpatients clinic with referral patients complaining erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, infertility, LUTS, penile deformities (curvature, small penis and so on), undescended testicles, urethral injuries and others benign male genitalia problems. He is also performing surgical activity related to the previous listed pathologies, such as penile prosthesis, corporoplasty, urethroplasty, varicocele, orchidopexy, glans resurfacing, testicular biopsy, penile enlongment / enlargement and others male reproductive and genitalia procedures related.
