David Bean, BSME/MBA is President and CEO of SemiNex Corporation. SemiNex manufactures high power infrared laser diodes for military, medical, cosmetic, and dental applications. SemiNex is the lead supplier of laser diodes for medical and cosmetic application in the wavelength range from 1250 nm to 1940 nm.
Mr. Bean invented the core SemiNex laser diode technolgy and holds numerous patents. In additon, Mr. Bean invented low-cost methods for the production and assembly of laser diodes to enable portable professional laser systems and home-use medical applications.
Prior to SemiNex, Mr. Bean managed the marketing of Corning Inc's optical components for telecommunications which included their market-leading pump laser business. He helped launch the industry's best-selling multimode fiber, InfiniCor™, recommended and supported the successful acquisition of Lasertron, Inc., and grew Corning's pump laser business to be the market share leader.
He also serves on the boards of Most Cardio Corporation, a startup developing innovative micro-robotic technology for cardiovascular surgery, Dermal Photonics Corporation, a startup developing home-use lasers, and Veralase LLC, a startup developing portable professional medical laser systems.
