Доктор David LUKANOVIC

Specialist in gynaecology and obstetrics, employed at Department of Gynaecology, Division of Gynaecology and Obstetrics, University Medical Centre Ljubljana.
As a researcher, David is involved in the main research projects in his department, mostly dealing with pelvic floor dysfunction (magnetic stimulation and Er-YAG laser) and ovarian cancer. Davids main focus is the research of the effectiveness of magnetic stimulation for the treatment of pelvic floor dysfunction. He is currently a member of the European international research group evaluating the use of Er-YAG laser for the treatment of stress urinary incontinence and vaginal rejuvenation (Vaginal Erbium Laser in Stress Incontinence, Prolapse, Estrogen Deficiency and Vaginal Relaxation: Stress Urinary Incontinence). As a research assistant, he is a student in an interdisciplinary doctoral program and is currently investigating the role of ATP7A transporter as a biomarker for predicting the chemoresistance of serous ovarian cancer. David publishes his research in international journals with high
impact factor. He was member of the program council of the interdisciplinary doctoral program in biomedicine at the University of Ljubljana and coordinator of intern physicians at the Ljubljana University Medical Center.
He is a member of the Slovenian Medical Association (SZD), Slovenian Association of Gynaecologists and Obstetricians, Slovenian Urogynaecology Society, International Urogynaecology Association (IUGA), European Urogynaecology  Association (EUGA),
Mediterranean Incontinence and Pelvic Floor Society (MIPS) and European Society of Gynaecological Oncology (ESGO).
