Dr Ian Strawford is an experienced general practitioner and aesthetic physician.
On the 28th of June 2017, Dr Strawford participated in the live IMCAS Academy webinar on facing and managing fillers or threads complications.
We asked Dr Strawford a few questions about his thoughts on the importance of webinars.
This is your first IMCAS Academy webinar – have you ever participated in a live webinar before? What do you think are the benefits of this medium?
This is the first time I have participated in a live webinar.
I am very keen and interested to be involved in the webinar. It’s a great medium to get experts and specialists involved in education and debate from all around the world. In our busy lives it can be difficult to get together for meetings and the webinar brings us all together. Also for those unable to participate at the time they can see the recording at a later date.
How do you personally use health related e-learning platforms?
I increasingly use e-learning platforms to fulfill my personal development plans as I struggle to commit time to meetings and workshops. And as a trainer and key opinion leader myself, at meetings I am often involved in presenting.
Over the last year I have seen an increasing number of e-learning resources for doctors in our industry.
This webinar is focused on the complications related to fillers and threads. Why are complications such a difficult subject to discuss?
This will be a really interesting webinar tonight as we are discussing complications. In the past this has been an area nobody really wanted to accept in case it had a negative impact on business.
I am pleased we can help to answer the questions many practitioners have around this subject. And I am pleased to provide the resources to help support the practitioners and patients who are unfortunate to suffer a complication from these treatments, which thankfully are rare.
You can view this webinar and others on the IMCAS Academy library.
