Dr. Ofira ZLOTO

Dr. Zloto is an Ophthalmic Surgeon at the Goldschleger Eye Institute of Sheba Medical Center. She specializes in the management of eyelid, lacrimal, socket and orbital disorders (Oculoplastic diseases’) and pediatric ophthalmology. She has a BSc (Cum Laude) and a MD degree (Cum Laude) from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. During medical school she has worked as a researcher in the Ocular Oncology and Pathology laboratory in Hadassah Hospital and was picked by the university to spend 3 months in Albert Einstein College of Medicine, NYC as part of an excellence program. Her MD thesis has been chosen by the university in 2013 as the best annual MD thesis.

She finished her residency in Goldschleger Eye Institute of Sheba Medical Center and has passed with excellence her Ophthalmology resident board exam in 2018. She was chosen by the Israeli ophthalmologists society as the best resident of 2019. 

She completed a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology in Hôpital Intercommunal, Hopital Henri Mondor, Paris and completed a second fellowship in Oculoplastic, in one of the best eye hospitals in the world, Moorfield’s eye hospital, London.

Dr. Zloto is a senior lecturer in Tel- Aviv university. She has published more than 60 papers, most of them on Oculoplastic and  Pediatric Ophthalmology, won competitive grants and presented in different conferences around the world.  She has won several prizes, including the Alrov Prize for Excellence in research and the Lamdan Prize, and her lectures were chosen twice as the best lectures at the conferences of the Israeli Society of Vision and Eye Research.
