Prof Shahid Javaid AKHTAR

Prof. Shahid Javaid Akhtar graduated with distinction from Punjab Medical College, Faisalabad, Pakistan in 1987. After completing internship in Surgery and Medicine, opted Dermatology as the medical specialty for future career and joined K. E. Medical College/ Mayo Hospital, Lahore under the kind but firm supervision of Prof. Tahir Saeed Haroon to complete the residency training.

In 1994, he did fellowship (FCPS) in Dermatology from College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan and joined Allied Hospital, Faisalabad as Senior Registrar. After selection by Punjab Public Service Commission, got employment at Punjab Medical College, Faisalabad in 1996 and since then working there, currently as Professor and Head of Dermatology for the last more than 10 years.

He has got special interests in Lasers, Skin Surgery, and contemporary Dermatological teaching/training. He is actively involved in academic and research activities and has many local/international publications to its credit.
