In order to be able to assess different products and the marketing claims of the companies .
Introduction: The increase in elderly and middle aged population with the non stop pressure of social media on younger generation , to look young and attractive led to increase consumer interest and demand on anti-aging skin care products
Stem cells , exosomes and nanotechnology are becoming symbol of hope and an opportunity for cosmetic industry .
We as aesthetic physicians address this in our daily practice and we need to be knowledgeable about anti-aging cosmeceuticals .
Materials / method: Explaining how can stem cells , exosomes and collagen boosters exert their anti aging effect .
How effective they are and if they can or cannot be incorporated in topical cosmeceuticals .
How nano technologist helps in the delivery of the different actives of cosmeceuticals .
Results: Stem cell , exosomes and peptides containing creams can jumpstart the skin’s ability to repair and renew itself .
But marketing claims push the limit of available science .
Nanotechnology based delivery systems in creams like liposomes or nano emulsions or microspheres improved the absorption , the feel and the efficacy of the products .
Conclusion: As professionals we must be knowledgeable and updated to provide unbiased information to patients to be able to choose their topical cosmeceuticals based on Science Not hype .We
should to be able to assess products to support a product away from the well oiled marketing machine in cosmeceuticals industry
We should yet still maintain the credibility of all those innovations which have lots of potential in anti aging aesthetic applications .
