Abstract

Objectives: Anatomical considerations: which planes for which threads? Introduction: All threads are originally designed to be inserted in a single plane, the surperficial fat plane. However, fat is not a homogeneous tissue nor in its thickness in its distribution; it is it that essentially contributes to the notion of skin thickness. Results: • threads should therefore be avoided in areas where the skin is particularly thin; on the other hand they are very effective where the skin is thickest especially in the Medio face where we can rely not only on the superficial fat but on the underlying fat compartments that offer both safety and efficiency. • Can we count on the «ligaments» of the face to anchor the threads? Probably much less than is said because most of these formations are only aponeurotic reinforcements that should be addressed at their deep origin therefore in dangerous zone... • In seemingly homogeneous superficial fat Conclusion: • The soon-to-be-daily use of ultrasound will undoubtedly help identify the anatomy of hazardous areas before laying, guide the laying and facilitate secondary threads extraction if necessary
