Abstract

Objectives: Most of the works on the use of resorbable threads for skin tightening are devoted to indications for their use, installation techniques and clinical results. But, how the threads behave during implantation is a little–studied question. In this connection, the purpose of this study is to study and compare the histological features of the biodegradation of 4 types of bioresorbable filaments when they are injected under the skin of a rat. Introduction: Four different types of biodegradable filaments were evaluated. The first type – PDO COG are inside the cannula 18G length 100mm, The second type – PLLA COG are inside the cannula 18G length 100mm, The third type – PCL COG are inside the cannula 18G length 100mm, The fourth type – PDO Press COG are inside the cannula 18G length 100mm. Materials / method: The studies were performed on 12 sexually mature mongrel rats weighing 100-130 g at the age of 5-6 weeks, in which filaments were implanted into subcutaneous fat in the withers area under local anesthesia. Experimental animals were divided into 4 groups depending on the type of implanted filaments.. Tissue samples from the surrounding subcutaneous tissue together with the thread were collected for histological analysis 36 days after implantation (based on the fact that metabolic processes in rats are 10 times faster than in humans, and can be compared to 360 days). Results: Based on the morphological descriptions obtained, it can be concluded that PDO COG is the fastest degradable filaments, active proliferation and pronounced bioremodulation of tissues are noted; PLLA COG thread has long-term biodegradation and moderate proliferative activity, PCL COG thread has the longest biodegradation without revealed tissue biomodulation; PDO Press COG thread also has long-term biodegradation and pronounced proliferative activity. Conclusion: But we are not saying that there are "good" or "bad" threads for lifting, each material has its own characteristics depending on the tasks assigned to the cosmetologist.
