Abstract

Objectives: Attendees will be able to: (1) expand their awareness of applicable methods in acne treatment; (2) optimize the medical management of acne; (3) improve acne control. Introduction: Acne vulgaris is the most common chronic inflammatory skin condition affecting almost all age groups of patients. We have a wide spectrum of treatment from systemic therapy to aggressive laser procedures. But these methods are not always eligible. Thus, EBD treatment is the optimal one in such cases. Materials / method: The highlights of EBD (LED and LDM therapy) were provided and clinical cases are presented. Results: Low intensity technologies lead to significant skin improvement in patients with a mild-to-severe acne. Treatment outcomes are long-lasting. Acne skin demonstrates a further spontaneous improvement after completing the treatment course. The methods are pain-free, well-tolerated, highly accepted by all skin types and ages. Conclusion: Low intensity EBD result in effective treatment of mild-to-severe acne, excluding the risks of side effects from systemic therapy to aggressive laser procedures. They can be integrated in all protocols of acne treatments.
