Patient description
30 years old female, no medical background
Case description
I have treated a 30-years-old patient 12 days ago with Restylane Lyft. I have used 0.7 ml for her chin (on the bone with needle), and 0.15 ml on the highest point of each zygoma on the bone with a needle. Yesterday she sent me a message saying she developed a pain periorbital (see marking on picture). The initial injection point on the zygoma does not hurt, the pain that she has is only on one side periorbital and she describes it as 'it feels bruised', no tingling or sharp pain, she has only pain when she puts pressure on it.
I wanted to ask you, for learning purposes, could the filler be migrated to the zygomaticofacial foramen and causing pressure and pain?
I don't have ultrasound in my practice. I will see her in two days and apply some hyalase around the place that causes the pain.
Does anyone suggest anything else based on your knowledge and experiences?
Thank you in advance.
