Objectives: Melasma is a chronic dyschromia that affects young women with tall type. Its origin is not fully understood and several factors such as ultraviolet radiation, hormones and genetics function as important triggers.
Its treatment is difficult, and recurrence is common. Therefore, we discuss new treatment options such as phenol peeling.
Materials / method: Phenol peeling was performed with the following formulation.
2ml stock solution
Phenol 88% 2ml
saline solution 5.5ml
This formula was applied to anatomical units with medium pressure and 10 passes.
Results: The results are presented and we see from the timeline that 2 years later the patient remains Melasma-free.
Conclusion: We conclude that the use of phenol peeling in the concentration used can be a good option for the treatment of Melasma with special and lasting results.
