Objectives: High-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) treatment is a very common procedure for skin and soft tissue tightening of the face, neck and decollate. With its spread, the number of cases of complications increases. There are transient erythema, edema, ecchymosis, nerve paralysis and scars.
Introduction: Cases of complications and treatment of transient erythema, edema, ecchymosis, nerve paralysis and scars are described.
Materials / method: Retrospective cases of patients from practice who developed different side evffects after HIFU treatment
Results: Patients developed erythema and edema, urticarial reactions or induration, focal bruising blistering, nerve dysfunction, and scars.
Conclusion: The side effects and complications of HIFU can be prevented and understated. Early treatment of complications includes local wound care, topical corticosteroids, LED, PRP to alleviate inflammatory complications.
