Objectives: Duplex ultrasound can give a 3D-insight in real time of the individual facial anatomy. Skin, subcutaneous anatomy, muscles, fat pads and bony structures including the foramina can be brought into sight.

Objectives: Duplex ultrasound to treat and prevent filler complications

Introduction: For fillers, there are product/host related adverse events )inflammatory responses and allergic reactions ) and injector related complications as nodules, dislocation of product and vascular adverse events. With duplex ultrasound, these complications can be diagnosed and treated more accurate. However, prevention is better and treating adverse events. Duplex ultrasound can also be used for educational purposes to improve injector techniques. A clinical case with dislocation will be presented were we show diagnosis, treatment and how to avoid these complications.

Materials / method: Duplex - ultrasound examination is performed before every filler treatment

Conclusion: Duplex Ultrasound can improve the safety and quality of filler treatments
