Objectives: 3 wavelength can target different hair types and different hair depths .
Describe thoses diodes combining 2 wvelenghts.

Introduction: New laser diodes combine two wavelenght of 755, 810 and 1064 nm with the objective to have more efficiency with high fluencies, high repetition rate, cooling , safe and effective hair removal.

Materials / method: We can observe that after 3 treatments on various body areas, 6 weeks apart , the average hair count reduction at 6 months follow-up was 84% for the 755/810 nm handpiece and 81% for the 810/1064 nm handpiece.

Thoses new diodes have large spot sizes.

Conclusion: - New diode hair removal lasers increase the treatment speed faster than traditional lasers : 10-15 minutes for a complete leg treatment (1 leg).
- And we can use modes of static or dynamic treatments to be safer, less painful, homogeneous and to offer improved results.

Objectives: The notion of pigmented or colored or ethnic skin is a fundamental element to understand before considering any aesthetic act. The result of a laser or a peel is directly correlated to the intensity of the skin color. Indeed, the main risk when treating pigmented skin is the occurrence of PIH.

Introduction: When using a hair removal laser, epidermal melanin competes with the hair melanin and, therefore, the risk of complications related to aggression of the skin becomes greater compared to patients with skin phototype I-III. It is particularly recommended in laser photoepilation to avoid tanned patients and to put the melanocytes to rest thanks to effective photoprotection.

Conclusion: To avoid thermal damage and epidermal lesions, lasers with longer wavelengths, longer pulse durations and suitable cooling techniques should be used. The safest wavelengths are those that emit in the near infrared spectrum: the Alexandrite laser 755 nm, the Diode laser 800-810 nm and the Nd: YAG 1064 nm.

Objectives: Identify patients at high risk of laser hair regrowth
Alert patients and physicians on risky areas
Select patients that should make an endocrinology screening for hormonal distubances.
Optimize laser settings to avoid laser hair regrowth

Introduction: Paradoxical hypertrichosis is the growth of fine dark hairs on untreated areas, close to treated zones
Devices most commonly in cause are Intense pulsed light and alexandrite lasers.
It is the appearance of excess hair, around previously treated area. Paradoxical hypertrichosis is a
rare, but notable adverse effect of LHR. This situation is emotionally and socially devastating
In most cases, LHR is safe and the results are long term.

Materials / method: Through a retrospective analysis of the records of patients coming to our clinic for laser hair removal, in the part 5 years. We have collected, patients with paradoxical hypertrichosis, settings and hormonal profile.

Results: Most affected area is the face when treating the sideburns, the chin or the neck in dark skin patients presenting with fine vellus hair.
Extrafacial areas could be affected also : the arms, the shoulders and the back even in lighther skins.
Hypertrichosis occurs when, telogen and resting follicles are stimulated into anagen.
Non pigmented vellus hair follicle are converted to longer and darker terminal hair follicles.
Polycystic ovary syndrome or hyperandrogenism were found in patients developing Hair regrowth

Conclusion: Dermatologists should be careful when treating sites at risk (sideburns, neck) in patients with hormonal distubances.
An informed consent should be added when the patient asks for laser hair removal in risky areas. Patients with non pigmented vellus hair follicle of the cheeks or of the neck should be aware of this possible situation.

Objectives: To evaluate the safety and efficacy of a new combined diode wavelengths (755-810-1064nm) technology (Large spot size, 4cm2) for large areas in male patients.

Introduction: Alexandrite (755nm), diode laser (808-810nm) and Nd:YAG (1064nm) are clinically established wavelengths in laser hair removal procedure. However, there is still a growing demand to improve the procedure speed/coverage rate without scarifying safety and effectiveness in all skin types. To date, no evaluation was performed using all three wavelengths simultaneously in the same pulse, although this technology is available for a few years.

Materials / method: A prospective, single center evaluation with a cohort of 22 male patients (Skin types II-IV) was designed. Each patient underwent 4 treatments on back or thorax or abdomen using a combined three wavelengths large spot size. Hair count was analyzed at baseline and at 3 months following the last treatment using a trichoscope (Medicam1000, Fotofinder, Germany).

Results: The three wavelengths laser diode was found effective for male hair removal in a four sessions course with an average 75% hair reduction (range 60-84%) & a 44% reduction in hair thickness. The large spot size laser was able to cover an area of 600cm2 in an average of 90 seconds. No side effects were reported in any of the cases.

Conclusion: The overall clinical performance in large anatomical areas of a combined (755-810-106nm) diode laser is extremely satisfactory and safe.
