Objectives: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of the intradermal injection of the biomimetic a) peptides acetyl hexapeptide-8, idebenone plus non-reticulated HA for dynamic wrinkles and photodamage and b) palmitoyl tripeptide-5, acetyl tetrapeptide-9 plus non-reticulated HA for wrinkles due to volume loss and of skins density.

Introduction: To counteract signs of skin aging, a novel concept will be displayed here: We will showcase data on relaxing wrinkles plus remodelling the respective skins structure by injecting biomimetic peptides combined with hyaluronic acid intradermally.

Materials / method: Acetyl hexapeptide-8 acts competitively at the SNAP-25 peptide. Palmitoyl tripeptide-5 has a sequence analogue to TSP-1 and is a strong activator of TGF-β, (synthesis of essential ECM proteins and stimulation of lumican (efficient binding of collagen fibres). The antioxidant Idebenone inhibits the MMP pathway.
Idebenone and non-reticulated HA of 15 mg/ml were added. Intradermal injection to volunteers (grade 2 WSRS, grade I-III Glogau) in 5 sessions gapped 15 days each. Clinical assessment, standardized photography were performed .

Results: Study-I-patients showed statistically significant WSRSi-scale-improvement for wrinkle correction (P<0.001). Additionally, in vitro studies show an 95% decrease of MMP in fibroblasts cultured with idebenone for 24 hours and exposed to UVA (30 J/cm2).
Study-II-patients showed also statistically significant WSRSi-scale-improvement (P<0.0001). Previous in vitro studies have shown an excellent response to collagen synthesis (+116%) in a fibroblast culture.

Conclusion: As this innovative approach of intradermal injections of biomimedic peptides to facial skin proof significantly evident improvements in wrinkle reduction as well as skin-texture- and density-improvements, those actives should consequently be considered once offering intradermal injections as single treatment or as combined protocols to patients seeking for skin rejuvenation, wrinkle reduction and for getting firmer skin.

Objectives: Objectives:
Ultrasound technology can treat fine lines and wrinkles as well as lift lax skin. Recently, a new-generation Ultrasound device was developed to safely target the mid-dermis to maximize neocollagenesis and neoelastogenesis, while incorporating feedback-controlled skin cooling and energy deposition. This ultrasound device utilizes synchronous ultrasound parallel beams to deliver seven beams of thermal energy at once to the mid-dermis at 0.5-2mm with center of treatment effect at 1.5mm depth, increasing tissue temperatures to 60-70 degrees Celsius.

Introduction: Ultrasound technology can treat fine lines and wrinkles as well as lift lax skin.

Materials / method: A prospective, self- controlled study assessed the utility to lift lax skin of the eyebrow and submentum and improve facial wrinkles. Fifteen subjects underwent 2 treatments and were followed at 3 and 6 months. All subjects but 3 were treated on 3 subareas of the face: forehead and temples for eyebrow lift, submentum and neck for lax submental lift and the checks including perioral for wrinkle reduction. The investigator assessed improvement and subjects reported satisfaction. VAS scale was used to document subjects’ comfort.

Results: All treated areas were improved in at least one of the follow-ups. High improvement rates were obtained at 3-months follow up: 80% for forehead for eyebrow lift, 100% for the cheeks/chin/perioral and for lax submental and neck tissue lift. 6-months post, the improvement rates remained high: 93% (eyebrow lift), 93% (cheeks/chin/perioral) and 92% (submental/neck). Subjects reported high satisfaction rates: 87%, 93% and 92% on the eyebrow lift, cheeks/chin/perioral and on the submental/neck. Pain level was 5.6±1.8.

Conclusion: This new-generation ultrasound device was demonstrated to safely provide lifting of lax skin of the eyebrow and submentum as well as improvement of the facial wrinkles.

Objectives: skin aging is a multicomponent process and some endogenous and exogenous factors have impacts on it.
A new generation of skin biorevitalizers , based on high molecular weight non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid (HA) can decelerate or reverse some components of skin aging.
In this study we are looking for better understanding of the efficiency of this biorevitalizers.

Introduction: The anti-aging effectiveness of injected hyaluronic acid is well known. We have a new generation of skin biorevitalizers with a high molecular weight (2.7-3.7∙kDa) non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid similar to that of the skin. Its deep dermal injection boosts collagen formation, enhances skin hydration, firmness, and elasticity, improves fibroblast morphology and function, and strengthens the epidermal barrier. these new biorevitalizers are manufactured with a specific technology that guarantees the final molecular weight and size as well as the ability to withstand the action of hyaluronidase

Materials / method: six volunteers with different grades of aging in the facial zone were included. in each treatment session, after facial cleaning and disinfection of the participant, the point-by-point technique was used to inject the non-cross-linked HMWHA into the dermis at a depth of ≤4 mm, with a distance of 5 mm between the injection points. Three treatment sessions spaced three weeks apart were performed. The Skin firmness and elasticity in turn were assessed with the Cutometer® and skin hydration was evaluated with the Corneometer®. High resolution before after pictures were also evaluated.

Results: The results show improved firmness (15.2%, p-value = 0.11), elasticity (66.1%, p- value=0.028), and hydration (19.8%, p-value= 0.173), evidenced by the Cutometer® and Corneometer® probes. the before/after photo based results and subjective results were satisfactory too.

Conclusion: The dermal injection of HMWHA with a molecular weight between 2.7-3.7∙kDa has proven to be effective and safe in the treatment and prevention of skin aging. Additional research involving larger samples and longer follow-up periods is required.
