Objectives: PRP (platelet rich plasma) and PPP (platelet poor plasma) applications are one of the most preferred applications among aesthetic and regenerative applications. For this purpose, many kits have been developed so far and each has different advantages and disadvantages. We have developed a new PRP kit called "TheCOGs". The most important feature of this kit is that it provides very practical results with the highest efficiency, adjustable volume and closed system.
Introduction: Regenerative medicine is the field that shows the fastest development among all other medical branches, and where many different products are used successfully, industry and medical science are the most together.PRP/PPP applications take the first place among regenerative applications.
Materials / method: We developed new PRP/PPP kit with three chambers. The most basic feature of this kit is that 2 centrifugation processes are carried out with the same kit in a completely closed system and the system works with the desired blood amount in the range of 10 cc-60 cc. The plasma is separated by the first centrifuge. The gear system on the kit is rotated and the plasma is transferred to the 2nd chamber. With the second centrifugation process, PPP and PRP can be separate
Results: All necessary clinical and laboratory studies related to the product have been carried out and its superiority over its competitors has been demonstrated. A completely closed and sterile environment is provided by the gear structure of the product and a luer-lock system of inlets and outlets. Maximum efficiency is achieved with the innovative 3-chamber system. All separation processes are perfectly achieved with a single sealed product.
Conclusion: This new PRP/PPP separation kit has eliminated the disadvantages of existing kits: 1. it is a single and completely closed system; no second tube or container is needed for second centrifugation; 2. Provides all aseptic conditions, sterility is not compromised; 3. Adjustable; It allows obtaining the desired amount of final product by using 10-60 cc of blood according to the patient or indication; 4. Maximum efficiency is achieved with 3 different chambers; 5. All operations are done clearly using cogs systems.
