Objectives: To show a new device to improve doctors injection skills

Introduction: FAST Method is a new approach to safer and more accuracy aetshetic injections is a technique based on simulators made mainly of silicon representing every anatomical area of the face

Materials / method: Simulators are use to draw show anatomy, teach techniques and resemble some real effects

Results: All this steps will be shown in the lecture

Objectives: The objective of this presentation is to understand the role and indications of ultrasound in the evaluation of fillers and to analyze some challenging aesthetic cases and learn some ultrasound tips that help us to improve the diagnosis, we the findings of our study.

Introduction: The use of fillers is very common, for cosmetic and therapeutic purposes. Unfortunately, some of these substances might lead to different complications and there is a need for a diagnostic tool that allows to properly identify them. Ultrasound has proven to be an excellent choice for the study of fillers, in this study we want to describe the ultrasound appearance of some of fillers used in Colombia, whether approved for use or not, which allow them to be used as a parameter for the adequate identification of these substances positively impacting the management of patients.

Materials / method: A descriptive cross-sectional cohort study was conducted. Exogenous material was injected into the faces of human cadavers by a multispeciality team . The injected substances were: Hyaluronic acid, calcium hydroxyapatite, Silicone, Polyacrilamide,Polymethylmethacrylate and two non-conventional substances which were Vitamin C and vegetable oil.
After the injection , an ultrasound of the face was performed by a Radiologist with expertise in Dermatological Ultrasound. With the obtained image records, a precise description of each substance was made, highlighting their characteristics

Results: Of the substances injected, it was possible to obtain characteristic ultrasound images .High-density hyaluronic acid was observed as pseudo cystic nodules, larger than 6 mm, low-density did not exceed 2 mm . Calcium hydroxyapatite produced hyper echoic layers. Biopolymers, had the appearance of snowstorm, typical for silicone in oil. Liquid silicone produced cystic images .Polymethylmethacrylate was observed as multiple linear foci . Vitamin C, shows a diffuse increase in the echogenicity of the dermis . Vegetable oil was observed as multiple highly confluent hyperechoic lines.

Conclusion: High-resolution ultrasound allows to accurately characterize fillers, is an invaluable tool for proper management of complications derived from its use .It’s important that physicians know the scope of ultrasound and its usefulness and should be trained in the ultrasound appearance of each of the fillers and the complications of their use. The findings found in this study confirm and support what has been described by other authorl . The images obtained can be used as a precise guide in the evaluation, diagnosis, monitoring and behavior of fillers in vivo

Objectives: Combination therapy consists of multiple treatments, all included in one ‘bundle’, aiming to improve a consumer’s overall aesthetic appearance.

Introduction: There are multiple factors to address with our cosmetic patients. We want to be able to target the superficial dermis for superficial wrinkles and small telangiectasias, the deeper dermis for deep rhytids and tissue tightening, muscles for dynamic wrinkles, the epidermis for lentigines and superficial texture, the mid-deep dermis for large pores as well as subcutaneous layers for fat remodeling…

Materials / method: The principle of a ‘multipurpose’ therapy is obviously since a single treatment mode cannot achieve all the results desired in treating the aging face. It involves various forms of treatment such as: topical therapies, neuromodulators, derma fillers, lasers, radiofrequency, HIFU based therapies, all in one overall program.

Results: Results of combined procedures will be presented.

Conclusion: “Synergy” is a term that is often bandied about to describe the additive effects of this difficult-to-prove but highly desirable phenomenon. The rising in awareness about various treatment modes, shorter recovery times, less frequent visits to the dermatologist, long lasting effects and decreasing costs, are all leading to a greatest preference for combination therapies by consumers and practitioners alike.
