Objectives: This talk will focus on the hair loss market and what we know about the use of home use devices for our patients with hair loss.

Introduction: Home use devices have been on the global market scene for many years now. Many of them have shown efficacy and safety which are crucial in this space. And many have also received FDA clearance, which is key to health care professional recommendation of these devices for our patients with hair loss.

Materials / method: The market overview will be reviewed and those devices which have FDA clearance and the studies performed that led to their FDA clearances.

Results: Home use devices for hair loss is not a myth and something that we should all embrace for our patients to use at home and in conjunction with other therapies that we may use to help people with this medical concern.

Objectives: Home Use Device working group is a long-standing association of pioneering industries in medical and aesthetic dermatology. Together we are driving the development of new energy-based home appliances and safety of home appliances for consumers and patients. HUD initiated proposals with the IEC to start the development of new standards for laser and light-based devices; participated in the development and publication of 4 new IEC standard; Hosted 25+ industrial memberships; organized and presented 86+ HUD sessions and more; contributed to 40+ peer reviewed publications and more.
