Objectives: We have evaluated total of 51 individuals participated in this study whom have gone for face and necklifting procedure with Permanent Silicone Threads (PST) since 2015 to 2023. We have evaluated the visibility of PST with UltraSoundGraphy (USG). We have measured if there is any migration of the threads by years, change of their thickness and echogenity and the possible side effects in this 8 year period with USG.
Introduction: A total of 51 individuals participated in this study. The highest number of participants, 48-58 years old, accounted for 41.2%. Among the participants, 29 individuals (56.9%) underwent facial procedures. 27 participants (52.9%) had 4 or fewer thread counts. Infinity brand was used by a total of 41 individuals (80.4%). The number of those with 6 months or less was 20 (39.2%). The majority, comprising 21 individuals (41.2%), had an average thread thickness between 1.37 and 1.41. Those with visible thread counts of 4 or fewer were the majority, consisting of 27 individuals (52.9%)
Materials / method: The data obtained in the study were analyzed using SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) for Windows 25.0. Descriptive statistical methods (number, percentage, mean, SD, etc.) were employed in evaluating the data. The Chi-square analysis method was used to examine the relationship between categorical variables.
Results: Table 2 presents the results of the chi-square test conducted between average thread thicknesses and time groups (months), indicating a significant relationship between these two variables (p< .05). Among those with 6 months or less, the majority had an average thread thickness between 1.37 and 1.41 (95.2%). For the 7-24 month group, the majority fell between 1.42 and 1.49 (53.3%). And for those with 25 months or more, the majority had an average thread thickness between 1.50 and 1.53 (73.3%).To assess the Post-Hoc power of the study, a power analysis was performed using the "G. Power-3.1.9.
Conclusion: Additionally, a low R2 signifies another indicator that average thread thickness does not change over time." So we can see the visibility of PST with UltraSoundGraphy (USG). We can observe the visibility of the threads; there was no migration of the threads by years, change of their thickness were stable after 2 years. It means that microfibrosis starts in 3 months, the microfibrosis makes the thickness 1,41-1,51 cm and than stabilizes for 8 years.
