IMCAS Alert is a user-friendly, free tool available to all physicians on IMCAS Academy. This forum allows users to post complication cases or initiate discussions, receiving responses from the IMCAS community within minutes. It serves as a valuable support system for aesthetic practitioners.
The forum is organized into five topic groups: Injectables, Clinical Dermatology, Plastic Surgery, Lasers & EBD, and Genital Treatments.
To explore its utility further, the IMCAS team interviewed three of the four coordinators of the Genital Treatments group.
Meet the Experts
Dr. Massimiliano Brambilla
A board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Brambilla completed his medical thesis on malformative intersex surgery and his specialty thesis on transgender surgery. He worked for 25 years at IRCCS Policlinico - Mangiagalli in Milan, one of Europe's largest OBGYN departments, before dedicating himself to private practice.
Dr. Marwan Nuwayhid
A gynecologist with two decades of experience, Dr. Nuwayhid runs his own clinic specializing in aesthetic treatments and surgeries.
Dr. Bernard Mole
A private plastic surgeon based in Paris, Dr. Mole has been practicing for 40 years and has been involved with IMCAS since its inception.
How did you get involved with IMCAS Alert?
Dr. Brambilla: "Dr. Benjamin Ascher invited me to contribute to IMCAS Alert to assist anyone facing complications in a field that still requires a multidisciplinary approach."
Dr. Nuwayhid: "As the president of the International Society of Reconstructive and Aesthetic Intimate Treatment (ISRAIT), I was invited by Dr. Ascher to participate as a coordinator. My goal is to make aesthetic genital treatments more popular and safer."
Dr. Mole: "I have collaborated with IMCAS since its creation in 1996. At Dr. Ascher's request, I was responsible for organizing the surgical program for the first 15 years. About twenty years ago, I recognized the growing importance of the genital program in cosmetic care. Initially, it was challenging, and our first session brought together less than 30 people."
What is IMCAS Alert’s strong point?
Dr. Brambilla: "It is a unique multi-expert platform for aesthetic physicians."
Dr. Nuwayhid: "IMCAS Alert is close to the practicing doctor and provides almost immediate responses."
Dr. Mole: "In three words: responsiveness, innovation, honesty."
What is your advice for new physicians facing patient complications?
Dr. Brambilla: "I would advise to engage in a multidisciplinary discussion go get a comprehensive approach and solution."
Dr. Nuwayhid: "To all new physicians, I advise not to be ashamed to inquire about surgical methods and to ask for help in case of complications."
Dr. Mole: "In medicine, incidents are more frequent than we say. They can be due to incompetence, clumsiness, recklessness, or sometimes without an obvious cause. The most experienced practitioners can attest to this: do not be shy. You will be doing an immense service not only to yourself but also to the entire community."
