Discussing webinars with Dr Tatjana Pavicic

3 min read

Dr Tatjana Pavicic is a board certified dermatologist specializing in cosmetic surgery and aesthetic services and board member of the IMCAS Academy.

On the 28th of June 2017, Dr Pavicic participated in the live IMCAS Academy webinar on facing and managing fillers or threads complications.

We asked Dr Pavicic a few questions about her thoughts on the importance of webinars.

This is your second IMCAS Academy webinar – what was your experience when you participated in your first one?

Everything was perfect. Great presentations and very interesting discussion. The technique worked excellently, and it was great to sit at home at talk to the people around the world independent of the time zone.

And of course I am very proud that until this webinar, it was the most watched one.

Tell us your thoughts on the need for online debate between peers. What are the benefits of this medium?

The audience gets the maximum of information in a very short time. It is a very interesting way to listen, and different aspects of a topic may be discussed. And of course there is no need to travel and lose time in the office.

How do you personally use health related e-learning platforms?

To catch the most recent information, to check for new techniques or technologies.

What do you think about the e-learning resources that are available for doctors in our industry?

This is an enormously growing field. Five years ago there were only a few resources and they were not always up to date. But now we have many options.

Of course, an independent scientific platform like IMCAS Academy offers unbiased content, and what I personally appreciate most is that the same topic is taught by different, but all excellent, experts.

This webinar is focused on the complications related to fillers and threads. Why are complications such a difficult subject to discuss?

Because most commonly doctors don't like to report or talk about the complications they might have faced in their office. And it's difficult to collect data from big controlled clinical studies. So it's a mixture of evidence- and eminence-based data. But meanwhile we have some excellent consensus recommendations on this topic.
