Dr Kai Oliver KAYE

A great interest in basic and clinical science has been the focus of Dr. Kaye’s medical career. After his basic medical studies at the Universities of Bonn RFWU and Paris V –Port Royal, Dr. Kaye did 2 years of experimental surgical research at the end of his MD studies at the TU Munich under the mentorship of Prof. Dr. Biemer, specializing in microsurgical research and completing various studies about the neovascularization process in preformed surgical flaps; this work accumulated in a PhD doctoral Thesis awarded Magna cum laude 2002 at the TU Munich.In 2001, Dr. Kaye took the opportunity to do a clinical research internship with the a main focus on microsurgery at UCLA under the mentorship of Prof. Dr. Bill Shaw.

From 2002 onwards Dr. Kaye was accepted for residency training in Germany under the mentorship of Dr. Klaus Ueberreiter in Berlin, where he had the chance to do clinical research on breast reduction techniques and fat grafting during 3 years, before he was accepted based on his clinical research experience to join the Aachen University Clinic for Plastic, Reconstructive, Hand and Burn Surgery in 2004 to finish his residency program in Plastic surgery under the mentorship of Prof. Dr. Dr. Norbert Pallua.

With this background of clinical research he spend to years abroad in Marbella / Spain to spezialize in aesthetic surgery before taking his European board exam EBOPRAS in 2007 and his German Medical Board Exam Plastic Surgery in 2008.

Since 2008 Dr. Kaye works in private practice in Marbella /Spain and lectures as clinical instructor for the German Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Resident program, futhermore he is interantional instructor in the ISAPS Expert program.

Dr. Kaye runs a Resident Training Program for residents in Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery at his private clinic training 4 – 5 th year residents within a rotation program.
