Biography

Professor Tak-Wah Wong MD, Ph.D. works in the Department of Dermatology, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Center of Applied Nanomedicine, National Cheng Kung University Medical Center, Tainan, Taiwan. He is one of the initiators and sits on the Director Board of the Taiwanese Society of Investigative Dermatology. His major research interests are in photobiology, oncology, wound healing, and abnormal scarring. He is one of the pioneers who used silicone cream to treat keloid dates back to three decades ago. His paper published in the Journal of Controlled Release (2006) has been the “Top 10 Articles Published in the Same Domain” since its publication. He is also the pioneer of photodynamic therapy (PDT) in treating skin cancers in Taiwan. The research of PDT has been extended from neoplastic diseases to infectious diseases, wound healing, and aesthetic areas.
