Objectives: This presentation will provide insights into the benefits of using supercritical decellularized human-derived cartilage for nasal tip augmentation. Attendees will learn about the technology’s ability to preserve ECM, minimize immune responses, and reduce complications compared to traditional methods. The study demonstrates 93% height retention and 91% volume retention after three months, evaluated through ultrasound and 3D imaging. Participants will understand its safety, biocompatibility, and broader applications for stable, natural results in aesthetic and reconstructive surgeries.

Introduction: Advances in tissue engineering have enabled the development of highly biocompatible grafts for nasal augmentation. This study explores the efficacy of engineered human-derived cartilage processed through a supercritical decellularization method and fabricated with a perichondrium-preserving engineering technique (supercritical CO2 De-ellularization). Using ultrasound, we longitudinally assessed the retention of cartilage height postoperatively in 10 patients.

Materials / method: Human-derived cartilage was processed using a supercritical fluid (SCF) decellularization technique to effectively remove cellular components. The engineered cartilage was then prepared with its perichondrium intact to enhance graft stability and host integration. Nasal tip augmentation surgeries were performed on 10 patients. Ultrasound was employed to measure the vertical height of the augmented nasal tip at multiple time points: immediately postoperatively, and at 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, and 12 months. Graft stability, integration, and retention rates were evaluated.

Results: The supercritical decellularization process produced grafts with excellent structural integrity and biocompatibility. Ultrasound imaging confirmed a high retention rate of cartilage height (mean retention rate: 96%, range: 93–98%) at 12 months postoperatively, with minimal evidence of resorption or deformation. The echogenic profile of the grafts remained consistent, indicating stable integration with host tissues. No significant complications, such as inflammation or rejection, were observed.

Conclusion: The incorporation of supercritical decellularization into cartilage engineering offers a robust method for producing durable and biocompatible grafts for nasal tip augmentation. The perichondrium-preserving engineering technique further enhances graft stability and long-term outcomes. This combined approach demonstrates significant potential for both reconstructive and aesthetic nasal surgeries, supported by non-invasive ultrasound monitoring.

Introduction: Ear pinna deformity refers to any abnormality in the outer part of the ear (pinna), which can affect its shape, size, position, or structure. The pinna plays a crucial role in the overall aesthetic balance of the face, and deformities can have significant cosmetic, functional, and psychological implications. Common forms of ear pinna deformities include conditions like "bat ears" (where ears protrude excessively), "lop ears" (where the top of the ear folds over), or microtia (a condition where the ear is underdeveloped or missing).

Materials / method: Oral presentation with vdo clip

Results: Participants will understand the role of surgery to correct the ear deformities to achieve the aesthetic goals with holistic approach.

Conclusion: Depending on the severity of the deformity, individuals may seek corrective treatments ranging from non-surgical options, like ear molding, to surgical interventions, such as otoplasty, to restore the ear’s natural appearance and function.

Objectives: The objective of this study is to evaluate common complications associated with the use of silicone implants in rhinoplasty and to explore effective preventive strategies and solutions for managing these issues. Given the increasing global popularity of rhinoplasty and the frequent use of silicone implants, understanding the etiology and management of complications such as infection, extrusion, displacement, and aesthetic dissatisfaction is critical for improving patient outcomes.

Introduction: Silicone implants are widely used in rhinoplasty due to their cost-effectiveness, ease of shaping, and availability. However, they are associated with complications such as infection, extrusion, capsular contracture, and displacement, especially in revision cases or long-term use. Prevention requires careful patient selection, proper implant sizing, and meticulous surgical techniques. Early management of complications, such as antibiotics for infection or implant removal for severe cases, is critical.

Materials / method: This study utilized a systematic review combined with a retrospective review of medical records from rhinoplasty procedures performed at Ramathibodi Hospital. These approaches were employed to provide a comprehensive and systematic analysis of complications related to silicone implants and their management strategies.

Results: The review and medical record analysis identified infection, extrusion, capsular contracture, and implant displacement as common complications in silicone implant rhinoplasty. Key factors included improper implant sizing, poor surgical techniques, and patient-specific risks like thin skin or revision history. Preventive measures such as careful patient selection, implant sterilization, and precise surgical methods significantly reduced risks. Early management with antibiotics, implant removal, or autologous tissue replacement effectively restored function and aesthetics.

Conclusion: Silicone implants remain a widely used material in rhinoplasty due to their accessibility and ease of use, but their potential for complications requires careful consideration. Effective prevention strategies, such as proper patient selection and surgical precision, are key to minimizing risks. For managing complications, timely diagnosis and appropriate intervention are critical in achieving satisfactory outcomes. Future advancements should focus on improving implant materials and refining surgical techniques to enhance safety and long-term success in nasal augmentation.
