The effectiveness of plasma-assisted tissue tightening after liposuction for face and body

Objectives: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of plasma-assisted tissue tightening combined immediately after liposuction for preventing skin laxity after significant fat removal and improving skin laxity, particularly in cases with moderate to severe skin laxity preoperatively. The objective is to determine if this minimally invasive approach represents a viable alternative to abdominoplasty, brachioplasty, or thigh lift for patients desiring less extensive surgical intervention.

Introduction: Liposuction is a globally popular body contouring procedure, particularly in Thailand. However, suboptimal liposuction results can lead to various undesirable outcomes, including contour irregularities, uneven skin texture, and, most commonly, skin laxity. This study investigates the efficacy of combining liposuction with plasma-assisted tissue tightening for preventing and improving skin laxity.

Materials / method: In our study, we included patients with significant body fat, double chins, or skin laxity before liposuction, based on clinical examination. We performed ultrasonic liposuction to melt and then suction the fat, and then used a plasma assisted tissue tightening device to tighten the skin. We evaluated parameters such as skin retraction, contour improvement, and patient satisfaction.

Results: The combination of plasma-assisted tissue tightening and liposuction significantly reduced post-liposuction skin laxity on the face and body. Importantly, we observed no burns from the device, and it minimized excessive skin redundancy, especially in cases of massive liposuction. This procedure facilitated faster recovery times and fewer complications, resulting in optimal aesthetic results.

Conclusion: Combined plasma-assisted tissue tightening and liposuction significantly reduces post-liposuction skin laxity in both the face and body. This can be a minimally invasive option for patients with mild to moderate skin laxity who do not want to undergo major surgery such as abdominoplasty, brachioplasty, or thigh lift surgery. These technologies contribute to faster recovery times, fewer complications, and ultimately, superior aesthetic results.

Second chances in body contouring: Post-liposuction skin retightening

Objectives: To correct contour irregularities, asymmetry, and residual fat deposits that persist after initial liposuction, utilizing advanced technology and refined techniques to achieve natural and harmonious body contours.

Introduction: Revision liposuction addresses persistent contour irregularities, asymmetry, and fat deposits after initial procedures. Suboptimal results can stem from uneven fat removal, poor technique, inadequate skin contraction, or patient factors such as weight fluctuation and healing variability. Technological advances like UAL, RFAL, and helium plasma offer targeted fat removal, improved skin tightening, and contour precision.

Results: Combining UAL, RFAL, and helium plasma in revision liposuction improves contour balance and skin tightening while reducing complications. Targeted fat removal and enhanced tissue contraction minimize irregularities and asymmetry. Patient satisfaction is significantly increased with natural, harmonious outcomes and fewer secondary procedures required. Technological precision yields reproducible, aesthetically pleasing results.

Conclusion: Revision liposuction using UAL, RFAL, and helium plasma addresses previous contour issues with precision and control. By refining techniques and combining technologies, surgeons can achieve natural-looking, balanced results while minimizing complications and patient dissatisfaction. The approach enhances predictability, safety, and satisfaction, making revision liposuction a valuable option for suboptimal initial outcomes.

The effectiveness of thread lifts combined with arm liposuction

Objectives: To evaluate the efficacy of thread lifts in combination with arm liposuction for improving skin laxity in the upper arms, particularly in cases with mild to moderate skin sagging. This study aims to assess whether thread lifts can serve as a minimally invasive alternative to brachioplasty, particularly for Asian patients who are more prone to keloid formation.

Introduction: Arm liposuction is one of the most commonly performed body contouring procedures in Japan. Due to hormonal factors, subcutaneous fat tends to accumulate and persist in the upper arms, making liposuction a popular choice among women. However, the “batwing” area is prone to skin laxity after fat removal, particularly in cases where over 600cc of pure fat is extracted or in patients over 40 years old.

In Western countries, brachioplasty is commonly performed alongside arm liposuction to address skin laxity. However, Asian patients have a higher tendency for keloid scarring, making brachioplasty

Materials / method: At our clinic, thread lifts are performed in conjunction with arm liposuction using PDO (polydioxanone) threads, inserting 4-6 threads per side to achieve lifting effects. This case report focuses on a 54-year-old female patient, detailing the surgical method and postoperative course. The patient’s preoperative condition, postoperative progress, and skin tightening effects were evaluated over time.

Results: The combination of arm liposuction and thread lifts demonstrated a significant reduction in skin laxity, particularly in the batwing area. In the presented case, the sagging skin showed visible improvement, with a noticeable lifting effect compared to traditional liposuction alone. The integration of thread lifts during the contraction phase of recovery contributed to enhanced and prolonged skin tightening, minimizing the risk of excessive skin redundancy post-liposuction.

Conclusion: Thread lifts combined with arm liposuction are an effective and minimally invasive method for addressing mild to moderate skin laxity. While brachioplasty remains the gold standard for severe cases, thread lifts provide a scar-free alternative for patients, particularly those of Asian descent, who are at higher risk for keloid formation. Additionally, when performed concurrently with liposuction, thread lifts leverage the natural contraction process of healing, leading to sustained improvements in skin tightness. Role of energy-based devices as an adjunct to liposuction in achieving better aesthetic outcomes in higher grades of male gynecomastia

Objectives: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of integrating energy-based devices as adjuncts to liposuction in achieving superior aesthetic outcomes in higher grades of male gynecomastia, with a focus on skin retraction, contour improvement, and patient satisfaction.

Introduction: Higher grades of male gynecomastia, poses unique challenges in achieving optimal aesthetic outcomes. Traditional liposuction is the cornerstone treatment to remove the fat but in advanced cases it would be challenging to address the associated skin laxity and glandular tissue. Our study explores the efficacy of combining liposuction with energy-based devices in managing higher grades of gynecomastia.

Materials / method: In our study, we have included grade 2b and grade 3 gynecomastia based on clinical examination. We have done Ultrasonic liposuction to melt the fat and then remove the fat via suction, then we have used bipolar radiofrequency device and microneedling radiofrequency device to tighten the skin. We have done analysis of 30 clinical cases of higher grades of gynecomastia and evaluated parameters like skin retraction, contour improvement, and patient satisfaction.

Results: In our study we have found synergistic benefits of using energy-based devices enhancing skin tightening, improves glandular breakdown and reduces need for extensive surgical excision. These technologies help to reduce prolonged recovery and minimalize complications to achieve superior aesthetic outcomes.

Conclusion: Our study highlights the transformative potential of combining energy-based devices with liposuction in managing advanced male gynecomastia. By addressing both fat removal and skin tightening, this approach offers a comprehensive solution, setting a new standard for aesthetic outcomes in higher-grade cases.

High-definition abdomen with non-surgical technique: Evaluation of satisfaction and performance

Objectives: This study aims to evaluate the safety and durability of the non-surgical high-definition abdominal technique using hyaluronic acid fillers and collagen biostimulators. It also aims to analyze the level of satisfaction of the patients treated, considering aspects such as the naturalness of the results, the time it takes to maintain the effects and any adverse effects.

Introduction: The search for more defined body contours has driven the development of minimally invasive aesthetic techniques. High definition of the abdominal muscles, traditionally achieved through high definition liposuction (HD-lipo), can now be achieved non-surgically with the strategic use of hyaluronic acid fillers and collagen biostimulators. This approach aims to enhance muscle definition, providing a
more athletic and harmonious contour without the need for invasive procedures.

Materials / method: Male and female patients aged between 18 and 42, with a low percentage of panniculus adiposus in the abdominal region and no contraindications to the use of dermal fillers were selected. a synergy between a hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler and calcium hydroxyapatite was used to mimic hypertrophy of the skin and subcutaneous region adjacent to the rectus abdominis muscle. the results
were evaluated using photographic documentation, imaging software and high-frequency dermatological USG over a period of 1 year. Patients were also periodically evaluated on their level of satisfaction.

Results: The use of the products in the appropriate skin planes and in synergy resulted in high aesthetic impact for the patients, with a satisfaction rate of over 85% over a period of 1 year. satisfactory dermal thickening was achieved with the use of CaHA and the volumization was maintained after the same period, through the observation of HA at the injected site. the safety profile of the procedure was adequate, respecting the execution techniques and the anatomical limits of the abdominal region. no additional intervention was required to manage complications arising from the procedure.

Conclusion: The synergy of the association of HA and CaHA has brought a new possibility of non-surgical treatment for the abdominal region, providing results similar to those of lipo-HD. the results are immediate, safe and with progressive improvement over time, but more studies are needed to address the long-term results.
