Objectives: In the recent years, the fitness and slim figure have been a tendency within society around the world and many people ask at gyms and sports centers for a routine, diet and/or practice to get a dreamed body. However, statistically, only about 10% of the people do get the habits and discipline to achieve this goal. Others need some additional treatment to reach it.
Introduction: We are describing how nowadays the H4D Lipo® is one of the best well-known procedures in body contouring surgery around the world. The author describes his experience in this technique, within a long learning curve and practice, resulting in better outcomes, higher satisfaction indexes, and minor complications and fewer contour defects. Some improvements have been developed to the procedure in order to evolve to the perfection of the technique.
Materials / method: The author describes the H4D Liposculpture® as part of many other procedures also performed by the author, which include: Mommy H4D, Male Pectoral H4D Definition, H4D Tummy Tuck and Mini-Tummy Tuck, Arms H4D, Calves H4D definition, and others. The 15-year experience includes 3765 consecutive cases. Patient criteria for surgery included male or female in general good health, BMI between 20 and 35 Kg/m2. All procedures were elective, conducted by AHA guidelines for preoperative evaluation.
Results: The improved H4D Liposculpture defines superficial muscle groups in the trunk, buttocks, legs, arms and many other anatomical regions where H4D can be performed. Athletic body contour was improved with very good results and a high rate of patient satisfaction. Selective fat grafting was performed in different body areas for volume enhancement in order to give a more athletic appearance. The incidence of bruising, prolonged swelling and seroma has decreased with new postop precautions and the use of new ultrasound technologies.
Conclusion: Nowadays, body contour surgery is one of the most frequently performed procedures around the world. So, many different techniques and support devices have been developed in order to improve results. The Author’s technique has excellent outcomes within long-term follow-up.
