Dr Minal Patwardhan did her Diploma in Dermatology and Venereology and MD Dermat Venereology and Leprology from Mumbai University. She passed out from Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College (LTMMC), Sion Hospital and College, Mumbai, in 1990.

A lecturer at the Department of Dermatology at LTMMC till 1993, Dr Patwardhan was very popular among her students. She moved to the UAE in 1993, first setting up a private practice, and subsequently establishing her own clinic, Minal Medical Centre, in Sharjah in 1997.

Her remarkable journey as an established player the field of dermatology and cosmetic treatment in the UAE began from here as she started out from this one-room, one-staff operation in Rolla, Sharjah.

Dr Patwardhan was one of the first dermatologists in the Middle East and Asia to begin using the Long Pulse Alexandrite laser in the same year when FDA approvals for laser hair removal were still in their nascent stages and quite unclear.

From thereon, her work has expanded by leaps and bounds: she now successfully runs two centres in UAE , the Minal Specialised Dermatology Clinic in Sharjah and the Minal Medical Centre in Dubai and one centre in India, Dr.Minal's Dermatherapie Centre,Mumbai.

Dr Patwardhan’s centres have collectively seen and treated more than 45,000 patients from different strata and different parts of the UAE over the last 14 years. Her reputation has spread so as to draw clientele from neighbouring Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, Pakistan and even India.

She is Board of Director of EADAL( Emirates Academy of Dermatology, Aesthetics and Laser); International Member and facultyu of ACSI(Association of Cutaneous Surgeons of India)and member of various associations including IADVL, AAD, EADV, ESCAD, AICBA.
