Liesbeth HAMEETMAN

Liesbeth Hameetman PhD, is project manager of Biomimiq, a CRO specialized in in vitro human skin equivalents (HSEs) for animal-free compound screening, safety testing services and co-development activities.

Born 1978, Liesbeth was trained as a biopharmaceutical scientist at the Leiden University where graduated in 1996. In 2007, she obtained her PhD on research conducted at the department of Pathology at the Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC) in Leiden, the Netherlands, on molecular tumor biology. 

As a post-doc, Liesbeth worked on the molecular profiling of non-melanoma skin cancers, a collaborative project between the departments of Toxicogenetics (now Human Genetics) and Dermatology at the LUMC. During a second post-doc project at the Dermatology department she focused on the validation of new small molecules to inhibit the EPHA4 kinase in skin lymphomas.

After leaving the academic in 2012, Liesbeth was active as account manager for distributor in life science reagents and in 2015 she decided to combine her scientific background with her sales experience and made the switch to Biomimiq as project manager, where she leads a team of technicians.

As spin-out off the LUMC, Biomimiq now operates as a division of Aeon Astron Europe B.V., a Dutch biotechnology company.
