Objectives: This presentation demonstrates labiaplasty as both an aesthetic and functional procedure using 1-month patient-reported outcomes. Participants will understand key outcomes including satisfaction, psychological impact, recovery, and symptom improvement, and learn how factors such as symptom patterns, age, labial size, and suture status inform counseling, expectation management, and clinical decision-making. It also highlights early recovery timelines and discrepancy between actual and perceived recovery, providing insights for postoperative guidance and patient education. Introduction: Labiaplasty is commonly performed for aesthetic concerns; however, many patients also experience functional symptoms such as chafing, moisture, and hygiene-related issues. Concerns regarding postoperative downtime may influence treatment decisions. Comprehensive evaluations of patient-reported outcomes (PROs), encompassing preoperative symptoms through postoperative satisfaction and recovery, remain limited. This study aimed to evaluate early postoperative outcomes at 1 month, including satisfaction, psychological impact, recovery, and symptom improvement following labiaplasty. Materials / method: This retrospective study included 100 consecutive patients who underwent labiaplasty by a single surgeon at a single institution in 2025 and completed pre- and 1-month postoperative questionnaires. Preoperative assessments included aesthetic and functional symptoms. Postoperative evaluations included overall improvement, aesthetic satisfaction, psychological impact, willingness to recommend, severity (10-point scale) and duration of pain, bleeding, and swelling, analgesic use, and time to return to work. Age trends, labial size, and suture removal were analyzed exploratorily. Results: All patients (100%) reported improvement (89% greatly, 11% improved). Aesthetic satisfaction was 99%, and all patients would recommend. Psychological outcomes were positive (83% very satisfied, 17% somewhat satisfied), with no dissatisfaction. Postoperative symptoms were mild (pain 4.2, bleeding 3.7, swelling 4.8 days; severity 2.4, 1.8, 2.6). Return to work was 2.2 days. Appearance (94%), asymmetry (61%), pigmentation (60%), and chafing (57%) showed greatest improvement. Functional symptoms were associated with higher satisfaction. No significant differences were observed with suture removal. Conclusion: Labiaplasty demonstrated very high patient satisfaction and recommendation rates, with significant psychological benefits including increased confidence. Postoperative symptoms were mild and resolved within several days, allowing early return to daily activities. In addition to aesthetic improvement, functional symptoms were frequently alleviated, suggesting that labiaplasty contributes to improved quality of life from aesthetic, psychological, and functional perspectives.
