Biographie

Dr. Alexo Carballeira Brana is an international authority in reconstructive microsurgery and the comprehensive treatment of lipedema, merging high-complexity surgical precision with a systemic vision of patient health. With over 15 years of experience, his career is marked by global milestones, including his role in the pioneering surgical team that performed the world’s first bilateral leg transplant alongside Dr. Cavadas.

He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Santiago de Compostela and holds an International Master’s Degree in Reconstructive Microsurgery from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. His pursuit of excellence led to clinical immersion programs at world-class centers in Tokyo, Taiwan, Helsinki, Mexico, and Paris, in addition to a residency at the prestigious Ivo Pitanguy Institute in Brazil.

As the founder and director of Lipedema Advanced Care and AC Cirugia Plastica in Valencia, Spain, he leads a multidisciplinary ecosystem integrating surgery, nutrition, and physiotherapy. He has standardized cutting-edge techniques such as Spiral Lifting for limb remodeling and the Full Legs HD system for comprehensive leg sculpting.

As an educator, he directs the International Lipedema Fellowship, a high-level program for surgeons worldwide featuring live surgery demonstrations. He is a frequent speaker at prestigious global forums, including the World Lipedema Congress in Rome, the European Society of Lymphology, and scientific summits in Brazil and Portugal.

A full member of SECPRE and AECEP, Dr. Carballeira Brana joins FILACP 2026 to share his expertise in addressing technically complex anatomical areas, reaffirming his commitment to innovation and safety within the Ibero-Latin American plastic surgery community.
