Dr Ivar VAN HEIJNINGEN

Dr van Heijningen is a plastic surgeon who was trained in the Netherlands but moved to Belgium after marrying a Belgian anesthetist. He presently works in the AZ Zeno hospitals of Knokke and Blankenberge and his private clinic Duinbergen Clinic.
 
He is member of renowned professional societies such as the European Association of Societies for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (EASAPS). He is the current president of EASAPS. He is closely involved with the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He was chosen as secretary and is exco and board member. He is member of the patient safety committee and co-chairs the accreditation committee. He is co-organiser of the ISAPS fresh cadaver dissection course in Liege which was organized for the 5thtime in 2019.
 
He initiated the European Standard for Aesthetic Surgery Services out of concern for patient safety. This standard was published in 2015. A European Standard for Aesthetic Medicine non-surgical procedures was published in 201.
 
He is a board member of the Royal Belgian Society of Plastic Surgery (RBSPS) as well.
 
He is a frequent speaker in international courses and congresses around the world.
