Biographie
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ungku Mohd Shahrin Mohd Zaman is a Malaysian physician, academic, researcher, and medical educator with over 30 years of clinical experience and more than 20 years in aesthetic medicine, regenerative medicine, and laser- and energy-based therapies. He holds an MD, Master of Education, Fellowship in Aesthetic Medicine, and the Malaysian Ministry of Health’s Letter of Credentialing and Privileging (LCP) in Aesthetic Medical Practice.
He currently serves as Group CEO of HASH Group, Medical Director of EMSA Clinic, Chairman of the USMARI Research Centre, Programme Director of the Medical Aesthetic Certification (MAC) Programme, and Director of Medivice Certification Sdn. Bhd. He has been a Committee Member of the Ministry of Health Malaysia’s Aesthetic Medical Practice Division since 2008 and previously served as Head of Department and Senior Lecturer in Aesthetic Medicine at MAHSA University. A pioneer of structured aesthetic medicine education in Malaysia, he founded and leads the MAC Programme, which has trained more than 3,000 medical doctors nationwide. His research interests include evidence-based aesthetic medicine, lasers and energy-based devices, regenerative medicine, hair restoration, cosmeceuticals, AI in healthcare, pigmentary disorders, patient safety, and consumer behaviour. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and three academic books: Laser & Light in Aesthetic Practice, Sound Waves in Aesthetic Practice, and The Naked Truth About Aesthetic Practice. An internationally invited speaker, trainer, and faculty member, he has presented across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America at meetings including IMCAS Paris, AMWC, Dubai Derma, ISWAM, and ACOS. He is currently President of Pertubuhan Doktor Estetik Berdaftar Malaysia (PDEBM), advocating for patient safety, evidence-based education, ethical practice, and high professional and regulatory standards in aesthetic medicine.
