Objectives: To demonstrate how combining conservative laser parameters with ingredient-specific cosmeceutical strategies can safely and effectively improve skin quality in Chinese patients.
Introduction: Chinese patients seeking skin rejuvenation often present with pigment concerns, textural irregularities, and sensitivity. However, Fitzpatrick III–IV skin types have a higher risk of PIH with energy-based treatments. This talk focuses on integrating safe procedural parameters and cosmeceuticals to optimize outcomes.
Materials / method: An integrative review of CO₂, Er:YAG, non-ablative fractional, and microneedling RF devices was performed with data from Chinese patient populations. Settings were evaluated in terms of safety, efficacy, and pigment response. Adjunct use of antioxidants, peptides, and barrier repair agents was mapped based on the 2024 JEADV consensus.
Results: Conservative settings (low density, low fluence, no stacking) reduced PIH risk post-fractional laser.
Microneedling RF and non-ablative fractional lasers showed high tolerability and effective outcomes in Chinese patients.
Post-procedure use of topical antioxidants and pigment modulators accelerated recovery and enhanced tone.
Zhang et al., JEADV 2024 consensus emphasized perioperative skincare as essential to procedural success in Chinese populations.
Conclusion: Maximizing skin quality in Chinese patients requires a balance between effective resurfacing and pigment-safe protocols. Conservative procedural parameters combined with post-treatment cosmeceutical support represent the optimal strategy for enhancing texture, tone, and clarity with minimal risk.
