Objectives: To recognize that male patient is part of a growing market in aesthetics To recognize that the lower face needs special attention in order to create balance and masculinized facial features To learn the Sexy Jaw Technique using hyaluronic Acid fillers Introduction: The male market has grown considerably in recent times. Much focus is given to the lower face in order to create a more masculinized facial feature and create definition of the jawline. While it maybe easy to do, careful attention must be given in treating the male jawline in order to avoid unbalanced, unnatural or overfilled look. This lecture demonstrates my own technique using hyaluronic acid fillers for jawline rejuvenation, which I call the Sexy Jaw Technique. Materials / method: The concepts of male facial beauty standards, aesthetic goals, as well as challenges in achieving goals shall be presented. Short video clips of the technique will be demonstrated with subsequent before and after photos of patients with different facial morphologies. Results: Perfecting the male jawline involves using the right kind of filler, with the right amounts, injected at the appropriate layer using specific injection techniques. Mastery of anatomy is important. The most notable danger zone is deep along the body of the mandible where the facial artery arises. Stiff volumizers or high G’ fillers may be injected deep into the bone, by the angle of the mandible, to create projection and achieve the desired bigonial width. Dynamic but projecting fillers may also be used superficially using a cannula to create shape and definition along the jawline. Conclusion: Male jaw enhancement has gained popularity in recent times. Creating a balanced, natural and masculinized look is of utmost importance. Proper knowledge of anatomy and having the right kind of hyaluronic acid fillers are keys in achieving this. The Sexy Jaw technique involves injecting the right kind of filler into the right layer of the jawline to achieve projection and/or definition.
