Objectives: We investigated the efficacy and safety of a complex (ALAVAX) of
5-aminolevulinic acid (5-ALA) and glycyl-histidyl-lysine (GHK) peptide for the treatment of pattern hair loss.

Introduction: Pattern hair loss is a very common problem. Although effective therapeutics for the treatment of pattern hair loss have been used, novel therapeutic modalities are still required to enhance hair growth.

Materials / method: Forty-five patients with male pattern hair loss were treated with ALAVAX 100 mg/ml (group A), ALAVAX 50 mg/ml (group B) or placebo (group C) once a day for 6 months. Total hair count, hair length, hair thickness, patient’s assessment and adverse events were evaluated at month 1, 3, and 6.

Results: An increase in hair count for 6 months was 52.6 (p＜0.05) in group A, 71.5 (p＜0.05) in group B, and 9.6 in group C. The ratio of changes in hair count between group B (2.38) and group C (1.21) at 6 months showed a statistically significant difference (p＜0.05). The proportion above good satisfaction was higher in group A (26.7%) than in the other
groups (group B: 14.3%, group C: 7.1%). There was no statistically
significant difference in hair length and hair thickness among 3 groups at 6 months. There was no adverse event in 3 groups.

Conclusion: Our study showed that a complex of 5-ALA and GHK peptide may be considered as one of the complementary agents for the treatment of male pattern hair loss.

Objectives: This study was designed to evaluate the therapeutic effect of intralesional corticosteroid therapy in alopecia areata.

Introduction: Alopecia areata is a recurrent nonscarring type of hair loss that can affect any hair-bearing area and can manifest in many different patterns. Although it is a benign condition and most patients are asymptomatic, it can cause emotional and psychosocial distress.

Materials / method: A male patient 21 years old with extensive alopecia patient responded to treatment with intralesional triamcinolone acetonide. Patient received Intralesional Triamcinolone at a strength of 2.5 mg/ml. Was given every 2 weeks interval.

Results: Patient tended to have exclamation mark hairs and a positive hair pull test at his initial physical examination, and exhibited improvement during the initial months of treatment. No Complications was found in this case. The treatment was well tolerated and, in some patients, pain was minimized by use of a topical anesthetic agent applied under occlusion prior to the visit.

Conclusion: Existing therapeutic options for AA are neither curative nor preventive. Their efficacy is hard to assess because of the high rate of spontaneous remission. Furthermore, long-term outcomes have been ignored, or not adequately followed by most studies. After several therapy sessions the patient was satisfied with the results

Introduction: Involving using of human stem cells in Androgentic Alopecia that holds a great promise. There are numerous sources of autologous human stem cells being used for the treatment for AGA. A recent new discovery source of autologous human stem cells is harvested from human hair follicles. Hair follicles are known to contain a well-characterized niche for adult stem cells : Mesenchymal stem cells in the dermal sheath and the bulge, which contains epithelial and melanocytic stem cells.Stem cells in the hair bulge,a clearly demarcated structure within the lower permanent portion of hairfollicles.

Materials / method: A new method to isolate human adult stem cells by mechanical centrifugation of punch biopsy from human hair follicles without culture condition. Area of punch biopsy at the mastoid process along the hair line demarcation bilaterally. Human follicle stem cells (HFSCs) is used, to improve the hair density in patients affected by Androgenetic Alopecia AGA in stage 2–5 as determined by the Norwood-Hamilton classification scale and few cases of Alopecia Areata.

Results: It has shown that the isolated cells are capable to improve the hair density in patients affected by androgenetic alopecia (AGA) and in some cases of Alopecia Areata .

Conclusion: Injection of Hair Follicles Stem cells shows a positive therapeutics effects on early stage of Androgenetic Alopecia in both Men and Women without any major side effects.

2. Create a natural extended hair line achieving the illusion of greater density

Introduction: Hair loss is one of the most noticeable aesthetic issue globally.
Hair transplantation is effective in reducing wide foreheads and recapturing hairlines.

Materials / method: Meso cocktail dipped grafts are used to create extended hairline at an angle of 40 degrees, 6 cms ±1 cm from the level of Glabella, where single and double hair grafts are placed using PRP as tumescence.The grafts should be angled forward and medial. Moving fronto-occipital, the angles stay flatter in order to achieve an illusion of a density. 30-35 follicular unit grafts per sq. cm are transplanted using slits and no touch technique, resulting in an even natural drift.

Results: Transplantation of mini grafts at an angle of 40 degrees to the frontal hairline, & angling the grafts towards the frontal tuft results in superior aesthetic appearance.
Adding Natural and Synthetic growth factors during the procedure results in lesser post operative telogen effluvium and better over all results.

Conclusion: Graft uptake in recipient area and survivability post harvesting are the key factors for the future growth of transplanted hair.
