Objectives: Thread lifting is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure that utilizes threads to lift and tighten sagging skin on the face. In Lateral face lifting with anchoring technique, The threads are inserted into the skin and anchored in place to provide support to the skin at artery free zone.

Introduction: This technique utilizes a long cog thread, allowing for stronger fixation points. The optimal location for thread anchoring is in the fascia of the treatment area.

Materials / method: The study was performed with twelve cadavers with twenty-four specimens of head from cadavers and were processed using phosphotungstic acid-based contrast enhancement micro-computed tomography and conventional computed tomography. The superficial temporal artery with branches of parietal and temporal were then observed with image Slicer program to analyze the safe anchoring place for the deep temporal fascia. The main branch was selected with diameter over 0.3 mm and less than 0.3 mm was regarded as arteriole.

Results: The main branch of the parietal branch located posteriorly were located mean of -13 mm (range of +5.5 mm to -23 mm). And the temporal artery ran most anteriorly had mean of 44 mm anteriorly (range of 32 to 59 mm). The safe area for the tagging is at the deep temporal fascia at between the superior temporal line and inferior temporal line. The safe range of deep temporal fascia is vertical line crossing tragus from 1 cm to 3 cm anteriorly.

Conclusion: By analyzing the result of the superficial temporal artery of parietal and temporal branch the ideal tagging place for the thread anchoring area has been suggested.

Objectives: To recognize the common aesthetic concerns and trends among Filipino patients
To demonstrate how thread lifting can be performed to achieve aesthetic goals in Filipino patients

Introduction: Filipinos represent a Pan-Asian ethnicity with western influences. Beauty standards are always evolving and are now leaning towards mixed features of both Asian and Caucasian influences. In the Philippines, the aesthetic goal is to beautify, improve facial shape and create a youthful appearance while maintaining a natural outcome. Thread lifting has become a very popular treatment in the Philippines. This lecture will focus on my treatment strategies using threads on Filipino patients with various aesthetic concerns.

Materials / method: In this lecture, assessment, treatment strategies and thread methods on Filipino patients will be presented. Videos of the techniques as well as before and after photos will be presented.

Results: The most common treatment indication of thread lifting in Filipino patients include lifting of the nasolabial folds and jowls, nose augmentation, lifting of the eyebrows/eyelids and tightening and lifting the neck. Absorbable thread material containing PCL/PLLA provides effective, natural and long-lasting outcomes. Combination with other non-surgical treatments will further improve outcome.

Conclusion: Thread lifting is an important aesthetic tool in treating Filipino patients. The treatment strategies must be designed to address specific concerns, taking into consideration the beauty trend in the country while maintaining a natural look.

Objectives: To introduce and explain the “Aesthetic Thread Mimetic” (ATM) thread lifting procedure, a face lifting technique that combines cog and monofilament absorbable threads to mimic the vectors of pull and lift of the traditional facelift surgery.

Introduction: Surgical options in face lifting, although still the gold standard, have become less and less due to non-surgical alternatives, one of which is face thread lifting. With the advances of designs of threads and insertion techniques, thread lifting has become a main staple in medical aesthetics. The ATM thread lifting procedure is a minimally invasive alternative to traditional face lifting surgery. It utilizes a combination of cog and monofilament absorbable threads to achieve a natural-looking lift.

Materials / method: Instead of making three purse string sutures placed in the “Extended MACS lift” surgery to lift the face, the ATM procedure uses three pairs of cog threads to mimic the pull of the purse string sutures and create a similar effect. However, the plane of insertion is placed at the superficial subcutaneous level, instead of placing it in the lever of the SMAS. Monofilament threads are then used to maintain the lift created by the cog threads.

Results: The ATM thread lifting procedure creates an effect that mimics the lift of MACS lift surgery, providing a natural-looking lift with minimal downtime and recovery. It is a safe and effective alternative to traditional face lifting surgery.

Conclusion: The ATM thread lifting procedure is a promising technique in aesthetic medicine and surgery. It combines the use of cog and monofilament absorbable threads that mimics the lift of face lift surgery, to achieve a natural-looking lift with minimal downtime and recovery.

Introduction: The demand of the non surgical thread lifting is increasing significantly in the last years. Repositioning of the soft tissue has an important role in antiaging treatment of the face. Non surgical thread can be an effective treatment in patient with mild to moderate amount of sagging with a realistic expectations. Understanding the anatomy, insertion technique and choosing the right products can improve the outcome with high satisfactions.

Materials / method: In this presentation I will discuss the efficacy of the threads by reviewing recent articles and publications. Review the anatomical changes with aging.

Conclusion: Non surgical thread lifting is not replacing face lift surgery but it can be an effective treatment in repositioning of the soft tissue in selected patients.
As the aging of the face is in a multi layers of the face, combination therapy can increase the satisfaction and greater outcome. With improvement of the qualify and design of the thread along with better insertion techniques thread lifting will be a common procedure in aesthetic medicine.
