Objectives: To examine the patient demographics, safety and effectiveness of cryolipolysis in Asian patients.

Introduction: Cryolipolysis are a well-known nonsurgical procedure for the subcutaneous fat reduction, but very few papers focus on Asian people.

Materials / method: A retrospective review was conducted for those who received cryolipolysis treatment from January 2019 to June 2019 in our group. The number of patients, the number of treatment cycles, all treatment areas, and all procedural complications were recorded and analyzed. Clinical outcomes were assessed according to patient surveys, circumference measurements, and assessment of photographs.

Results: Over this period, 4,122 patients were treated with 12,363 cycles, primarily in the lower abdomen (24.9%, n = 3,078cycles), upper arms (18.8%, n = 2,324), inner thighs (13.7%, n = 1,694), flanks (11.5%, n = 1,421), submental (10.8%, n = 1,335), upper abdomen (9.9%, n = 1,223), hip(4.5%, n = 556). No adverse events were reported. There was a significant reduction in the circumference of both the abdomen and upper arms areas.

Conclusion: Cryolipolysis is a safe and effective treatment method for nonsurgical body contouring, which can contribute business growth.

Objectives: High intensity focused electromagnetic fields (HIFEM) is a new energy source used in body contouring to tone muscles for the first time. This study evaluated the efficacy of HIFEM in contouring bicep, tricep and calf muscles.

Introduction: Until now, body contouring technologies focused on treating the skin and fat but not the muscles. HIFEM is a new energy source that targets muscles by creating 20,000 muscular contractions in a thirty minute period while also burning adjacent fat.

Materials / method: 30 subjects underwent 4 thirty minute treatments over a 2 week period and were evaluated by baseline and follow up ultrasound scans and MRI's.

Results: HIFEM was found to statistically significantly increase muscle mass and reduce the fat layer in the biceps, triceps and calves.

Conclusion: HIFEM is a new innovation in body contouring which for the first time addresses muscle toning while also reducing adjacent fat layers.

Objectives: To update the audience about this new technology of field radio-frequency (FRF) for volume reduction

Introduction: The demand for subcutaneous fat reduction for body contouring has been gradually increasing, and there are many devices for non-surgical and non-invasive technologies including conventional contact RF, cryolipolysis and HIFU. We want to present here another approach with a non-contact RF, called field radio-frequency (FRF)

Materials / method: We will go over our one-year experience with this technology, as well as an in-depth review of technical details and published literature

Results: We will show clinical example of before-after. No serious adverse effects were observed during treatment and the follow-up period, and there were no clinical significant changes in the lipid and liver-related values.

Conclusion: FRF is an elegant approach for volume reduction and, as usually with body shaping, patient selection is a critical point to achieve good results.

Objectives: 1High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic (HIFEM) technology is an innovative modality for non-invasive aesthetic medicine, claiming to simultaneously strengthen muscles and reduce fat.
2 One year experience in a french laser dermatology center will be presented and related to published data.

Introduction: Various investigators in the USA have published multiple studies on HIFEM including MRI, CT or ultrasound, evaluation of histological changes.

Materials / method: all patients treated in one year in the french laser center with an HIFEM device, 4 to 8 sessions per site, has been recorded, about loss of fat, improvement of muscles strengh, improvement of bodyshape, overall satisfaction, comfort of the treatment. Sites as abdomen, buttocks, thighs, arms and calves has been treated. Incomfort and side effects has been noted.

Results: Published studies documented changes in the thickness of muscle tissue
(15-19% bulking) and subcutaneous fat (19-27% reduction), diastasis recti improvement. Histological studies described observation of changes in fat apoptosis and muscles fibers increasement.
In the french patient group, overall satisfaction about improvement of bodyshaping, gain of muscles strengh, loss of fat was high. highlights will be given according to sites and specific conditions.

Conclusion: Published studies showed that HIFEM has direct clinical effect on both fat and muscle tissues of treated patients. One year practicing with an HIFEM device in a french laser center brought similar results.As such it represents a valuable tool in body contouring.

Objectives: This lecture should show possible combinations of energy based devices plus collagen stimulator injections use in large body areas for a tighter and more beautiful body skin appearance

Introduction: Skin laxity on face and body areas are of great concern to our patients in their aging process. UV damage as well as the natural aging process leads to a more tender and softer skin and ends in laxity. In combination with volume loss sagging occurs. The body has become the second face and patients are aiming for the same young appearance of their body skin as on the face.

Materials / method: There are different energy based devices on the market, with which this process can be rejuvenated, best in combination with an injected collagen stimulator.
Since more than 15 years noninvasive radio frequency devices are used for skin tightening, starting with monopolar, later bipolar, as well as multipolar setups. Depending on the RF device and its energy levels one or multiple treatments are necessary for a visible result. RF devices heat up tissue, like a cloud into the depth of the tissue starting at the skin level.

Results: Microfocussed Ultrasound the other most common technology for skin tightening since almost 10 years, is a usefull alternative, reaches deeper tissue layers in a more focused way, without heating up the tissue in-between. For a lifting effect, it is performed as a one time treatment in at least 2 different depth levels aiming to hit fascias as well as the deep dermis of the skin and subcutaneous tissue for a lifting effect.

Conclusion: Both technologies plus the collagen stimulator, e.g. Calciumhydroxylapatite diluted, as an injectable induce the fibroblast activity and new collagen production as well as some production of elastic fibers over a period of 3-12 month. Both combinations are very useful treatments for skin tightening of larger body areas

Objectives: Cellulite is a combination of volume related problem, as well as dimpling and tissue laxity. This explains, why single treatments have been lacking of high satisfaction rates on long-term in the past. This study provides evidences of the advantage of combining 3 treatment modalities and on the sequence of tissue stabilized guided subcision, micro-focused ultrasound, and minimally invasive injections utilizing calcium hydroxylapatite for treating skin surface irregularities.

Introduction: Skin surface irregularities of the gluteal and posterior thigh regions can be majorly attributed to the effects (but not exclusively) of skin laxity and skin dimpling. The latter is majorly caused by the effects of cellulite, which is understood as an aesthetically unpleasing condition with profound feelings of body dissatisfaction, psychosocial stress, and decreased quality of life. Therapeutic options for the treatment of skin surface irregularities have revealed promising outcomes utilizing tissue-stabilized guided subcision, micro-focused ultrasound and calcium hydroxylapatite.

Materials / method: 61 females (body mass index: 22.6 ± 2.4 kg/m2, age: 37.2 ± 6.8 years) were enrolled in this randomized interventional prospective study. Treatment arms included a variable combination and sequence of three treatment modalities: (1) Tissue stabilized guided subcision (TSGS), (2) micro-focused ultrasound (MFU), (3) minimally invasive injections utilizing calcium hydroxylapatite (CHA). Skin laxity and skin dimpling severity scores were assessed 6-months after the last intervention.

Results: The combination of three treatment modalities was shown to provide greater improvement in skin laxity 1.88 (95% CI, 0.66 – 5.37) and skin dimpling 1.31 (95% CI, 0.61 – 2.81) scores as compared to any of the two treatment modalities. The combination of minimally invasive injections utilizing calcium hydroxylapatite and micro-focused ultrasound followed by tissue stabilized guided subcision three months later effected the greatest improvement after the 9-months follow-up period both for the treatment of skin laxity 2.23 (95% CI, 0.51 – 9.82) and skin dimpling 1.79 (95% CI, 0.67 – 4.78).

Conclusion: This study provides evidence for the effectiveness of combination therapies for the improvement of skin surface irregularities.
