Objectives: The purpose of this presentation is to show and teach step by step an EASY and SAFE face lift technique.
This technique is very quick, doesn't requires SMAS elevation, has a fast recovery yet may give great satisfaction also in elderly patients or patients with neck area laxity, that can't achieve great results with the use of only aesthetic medicine.
In those patients, face surgery should be a better option to reach a natural and pleasant result, rather than insisting with the only aesthetic medicine, that may produce overfilling and unnatural faces.
Introduction: Aesthetic Medicine procedures are becoming more and more common.
Even though remarkable improvements have been achieved, there are still many patients whose results are not satisfactory when using only cosmetic procedures, such as those with severe neck area laxity of elderly patients.
The purpose of this presentation is to show step by step an EASY and SAFE face lift technique and it's results. In some patients, face surgery should be a better option to achieve natural and pleasant results, rather than insisting with the only aesthetic medicine.
Materials / method: Over the past 10 years, our group has successfully done more than 5000 Facelifts and treated more than 8000 patients with full face aesthetic medicine approach.
Face lifts don't always require a generous undermining, SMAS Elevation, long procedures leading to a long recovery.
Our Subcutaneous facelift with SMAS Plication, lateral platysma elevation and redraping is an easy and SAFE procedure.
It can be done in 2 hours with immediate recover, and leads to a natural result with happy and satisfied patients giving a way better result than insisting with fillers/threads/aesthetic medicine tools
Results: We found that full face filler treatment works well as long as the patients' neck area is not involved, and does it's best results in those patients who are regular in undergoing aesthetic treatments and take care of their skin.
On the other side, patients who have severe skin laxity, or approach to the aesthetic medicine/surgery too late, can't have a satisfactory result using only noninvasive procedures, but require a facelift.
This procedure will give a natural look and a definitive result, lasting at least 10 years. Aesthetic medicine will then support and refine, with botox or bios
Conclusion: The knowledge of the correct procedure to be chosen for the difficult patients may allow us surgeon to stop creating overfilled patients walking around, therefore avoiding the adverse publicity they do to our whole business.
Either Medicine or Surgery, it's supposed to be aesthetic. Pushing their limits creates dysmorphier. On the opposite, knowing their limits and mastering both of them creates beauty.
