Ally-Khan Somani , BSc, MD, PhD, FACMS, FAAD, FASDS, FEADV is a board certified dermatologist and fellowship trained physician-surgeon/scientist. He is an Assistant Professor of Dermatology and the Director of Dermatologic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology Division and the Director of Micrographic Surgery & Dermatologic Oncology Fellowship in the Department of Dermatology, and an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the Indiana University School of Medicine.

His clinical practice is focused on treating skin cancers using Mohs micrographic surgery followed by reconstructive surgery. He received advanced training in all phases of dermatologic surgery including Mohs surgery and reconstruction, excisional surgery, dermabrasion and chemical peeling, hair transplantation, scalp reduction, cryosurgery, laser surgery, tissue augmentation, sclerotherapy, liposuction, and other physical modalities during his fellowship at the world renown Cleveland Clinic (Dermatology & Plastic Surgery Institute).

Dr. Somani is also a recipient of numerous research awards and grants, including the Dermatology Foundation Career Development Award in Dermatologic Surgery. His Research interests include cutaneous oncology, wound healing, aging, immunology and the molecular and signaling pathways involved in inflammatory, neoplastic and autoimmune skin diseases.  He has authored numerous peer-reviewed scientific articles and book chapters. He also serves as an editor and ad-hoc reviewer for several scientific and dermatology journals including Dermatologic Surgery, Journal of Investigative Dermatology, the Archives of Dermatology, and the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology.
