Julie Woodward, MD is the Chief of Oculofacial and Reconstructive Surgery Service at Duke University Medical Center. As established authority in the field, she specializes in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the eyelids and orbit, as well as cosmetic laser surgery of the skin. She holds appointments in both Ophthalmology at Dermatology.She is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology(AAO), American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery(ASOPRS), American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (AACS), Women’s Dermatologic Society(WDS), and Women in Ophthalmology(WIO). She delivered keynote presentations for meetings in Brazil, China, and also the AACS annual scientific meeting. In December of 2010 she was profiled on the front cover of Plastic Surgery Practice Magazine for her work of teaching in an academic practice. Dr. Woodward has published extensively on her work with injectable fillers and cosmetic laser surgery, with articles appearing in wide variety of peer reviewed plastic surgery and dermatology journals. She has written several textbook chapters and was a section editor for the first multidisciplinary textbook involving dermatology, facial plastic surgery, oculofacial surgery, and general plastic surgery. Dr. Woodward enjoys an active homelife with her husband and 3 children.
