Objectives: A Case of Tyndall Effect & Malar Oedema. IMCAS is grateful to Physicians who submit case complications. These cases generate productive collegiate discussions and helpful solutions. Importantly all who participate are afforded an opportunity to further their knowledge and standards. Introduction: Complications of Mid-face Filling are quite commonly represented in practitioner submissions to IMCAS Alert. Materials / method: A recent case submission to IMCAS Alert https://www.imcas.com/en/academy/alert/injectables/2807/tyndlle-effect concerning a case complication of Tyndall Effect resulted in much worthwhile discussion and some debate ampong responding collegues. Results: This presentation explores the aetiology, risk minimisation and management of these common mid-face filler complications. Conclusion: Optimal anatomical filler placement and rheologically appropriate filler choices are fundamental to minimising malar oedema and Tyndall effect.
