Clinical analysis and treatment of 64 cases of acute contact dermatitis caused by compound lidocaine cream
Objectives: 1. Diagnosis of lidocaine induced dermatitis and grading of severity.
2. How to treat the patients according to the standard grading therapy set by us according to the severity of mild, moderate and severe.
3. Characteristics of lidocaine induced dermatitis and ways to reduce its occurrence.
Introduction: Topical anesthesia with compound lidocaine cream has become a routine analgesic method before photoelectric therapy. However, due to individual differences, there is the possibility of mild or severe adverse reactions when using compound lidocaine cream for external use, which will affect the follow-up laser treatment, but also cause skin trauma to patients, leading to downtime and subsequent complications. For medical institutions, it is easy to produce disputes.
Materials / method: 64 patients with skin allergy caused by compound lidocaine cream before facial photoelectric treatments in the laser aesthetic center of our hospital from March to August 2022 were analyzed retrospectively. The analysis included the history of skin allergy, the site of skin lesions. Moreover, according to the severity of skin lesions were divided into mild, moderate and severe, the corresponding standard treatment was carried out as well.
Results: During the observation period, a total of 6709 patients with compound lidocaine cream were treated before treatments, 64 patients developed allergic reaction (0.9%).Under our graded standardized treatment, the mild and moderate patients were basically cured within 2 weeks, 2 cases were left with color deposition. The severe patients were basically cured within 1 month, and there was no residual color deposition.
Conclusion: The skin state of patients should be observed before external use of lidocaine cream, and the skin changes of patients should be paid attention to at any time in the process of external use, especially for the high-risk areas prone to allergy. With early detection, our graded standardized treatment can reduce the skin injury after the allergies. The recovery time can be obviously shortened and the risk of color subsidence can be reduced.
